Perfect relaxing vacation

This home was breathtaking. The property manager anticipated and provided for all our needs - even before we recognized some of those needs! That thoughtful attention to detail allowed us to really relax. The entire stay was very therapeutic for weary people who spend our lives taking care of others.

Excellent location and perfect house.

Everything was great! Supplies galore (even baking ingredients to include chocolate chips!) Everything was perfectly labeled (no guessing which switch works which lights) The space is gianormous and every room has its own full bathroom and wonderful views. We highly recommend it.

Bday stay

Beautiful house on the river we loved our stay. Enjoyed tubing on the river and relaxing with family at the house. Joan is a great host and very helpful with tips on things to do and places to eat. Can’t wait to go back again!

Beyond Expectations

The home owner went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. Not only was the home beautiful, fully equipped and clean, Joan, the host, did everything she could to assure our stay was great. Even though she herself was traveling we could text her and heard back right away snd she even called several times to make sure all good. Home is as advertised. Great location, beautiful views with a deck by the river. Garage and elevator were a big plus. Would love to come back again.

Great Gathering Place

While the photographs of this riverside home are accurate, they cannot do justice to the ambience and delight experienced. Every level has its own deck and each deck has an expansive view of the river.We gathered for a small family reunion of siblings and spouses. We all had our own bedroom and bath, as well as our own floor. The house provided many areas to gather together or find space for some alone time. Whether in the expansive kitchen or one of the many decks, the house set the tone for a warm and welcoming experience.Just before we met, one of us had an injury and the elevator was a great help.In addition, Joan, the owner, was exceptional and helpful before we even arrived.This would be a great gathering place for a multigenerational family and I would love to return with my children and grandchildren. I can’t sing the praises enough for this most welcoming home. A jewel in Upper Black Eddy!

Thanksgiving weekend

Joan, our host was very helpful and provided everything you could possibly need for a family weekend. The house is amazing, clean and extremely organized as well as centrally located with beautiful views. I can’t say enough.

Wow! We love staying in Joan’s home. Once again, she was the perfect host and her home had everything you would want. She thinks of everything—-robes, stroller, every kitchen utensil possible along with clear instructions. Perfect holiday rental.

Best Family Christmas

This home was perfect for our family Christmas. We loved the river, space, privacy, and the fireplace. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything for a holiday meal. Joan was very attentive and helpful if we needed anything. She went out of her way to accommodate our family. We had the best time and wanted for nothing, super convenient.

Amazing house, fully stocked and beautiful!

This is was the best vacation house we have ever been in, bar none. It is almost unbelievable how well stocked it is, from the kitchen to the tool closet, etc. that’s all on top of a great layout with dual sided fireplace, amazing yard and private dock, and very clean conditions. Whole heartedly recommend.

Long weekend stay

House was immaculate upon arrival. Excellent for people with mobility issues. Friend was in a wheelchair and he could access entire house and waterfront deck. Very relaxing and enjoyable time. Some really great restaurants in town.

Our stay at Joan’s River House was an experience my family aged 3 to 70 truly enjoyed. The house is big enough for a large group and yet cozy and peaceful. It is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated creating areas of interest throughout the house. The elevator is a bonus, especially when bringing in the luggage and was a huge hit with the grandchildren. JOAN is the consummate host having thought of everything and creating a very organized environment saving you time and allowing you to just get down to enjoying the comfort of her home. We hope to be back soon!

A Wonderful Reunion

We (three families of old college friends, each with kids between 1-10 years old) spent a long weekend at the house, and it was a wonderful venue for us to connect. We made the top floor the "Kid Zone", which was perfect as it had a bunch of individual beds and musical instruments. This allowed our kids to have a great time together, while giving the adults the opportunity to catch up. Joan was an amazing host, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our stay. I can't want to come back again, as we all agreed we'd love to make this an annual tradition!

Awesome Deleware River Home

This is our 2nd year staying at this home. It literally has everything..even an elevator ( great for bringing in luggage and supplies) Would be easier to say what it doesnt have that to list everything that’s there for you! ( even 2 sets of washer dryers ) Cant say enough about place or about hosts (Joan is a text away and soo accommodating). They home is as beautiful as the pictures. A great family home..if you decide to rent here you wont be disappointed and most likely you’ll return!

Wonderful for all ages

We just had a multi-celebration party and family reunion at " the River Home" with family members ranging from 4 months old to 88 years young, celebrating my daughter's graduation and birthday and mother's day.... This beautiful home and is clean, comfortable, beautiful and equipped for all ages and phisical abilities. The elevator was a blessing, well equipped for fishing, kayaking, biking, cooking, baking...... We made such beautiful memories and would love to have another family reunion here. Thank you Joan for making us feel at home.

Out of State wedding

I needed a house a my extended family for my sons wedding. This river home was perfect. The house was beautiful and meet all our needs. The grandparents loved the elevator. The home allows for great together time and allows privacy when wanted. The multiple decks and outside amenities made you like you were somewhere special at all time. Joan has appointed this house with anything you can need . You can tell Joan takes great care of her home and her guest. Her availability to guest is amazing. Overall my sons wedding was so special and amazing and so was staying at this lovely river front home You will be happy if you select this home.

Best Family Vacation Ever!

Great Family vacation house! We took our son and daughter and spouses along with our 4 grandsons The home was beautiful and spacious. Never really had to leave other than to get food. The kids played in and by the river, swimming, tubing, fishing and kayaking. They played baseball and frisbee and tag in the backyard. Reading down on the deck by river was the best. Most mornings took a long bike ride along the canal path. Just a great family time making great memories.

Beautiful riverfront home

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful riverfront property. The home is immaculate, one of the cleanest rental property I’ve come across. The property is beautifully landscaped with bamboo fencing. We definitely appreciated the elevator for a disabled family member. The grocery store is nearby in case anything is needed. Joan was very gracious and attentive to our needs. We enjoyed canoeing/kayaking/tubing on the river (all provided). We also enjoyed a nice evening around the fire pit. We all had such fun entertaining my 3 year old niece on the upper floor with all sorts of musical instruments (none of us musically inclined). This home is exceptional. Great place for family bonding. We plan on returning.

An unforgettable experience!

We had an amazing long weekend staying in this beautiful home for the double-header occasion of our wedding and our newborn’s baptism. We stayed here with our bridal party and had an incredible time. The house and property was so wonderful we only wish we didn’t have such a busy weekend so that we could spend more time relaxing by the fireplace, making s’mores at the fire pit, or kayaking on the Delaware. The backyard was the perfect place to take pre-wedding photos! Joan was an incredible host-the most communicative and thorough host we’ve ever had for a rental! If you’re thinking of booking this house, DO IT! You’re guaranteed to have a wonderful stay!

Extraordinary Place to Relax or Not!

I can't say enough good things about this home or it's host. My husband and I, two adult children and future son-in-law came to stay and visit with my ailing mother. The master on main and elevator were key for someone with her limited mobility and it's a great way to get your things easily to any floor. Beautiful inside and out, cozy and warm (it was winter, and it snowed), and the decor was stunning. Everyone had their own space and bath and the living and kitchen space with the two-sided fireplace provided an excellent setting to relax, catch up and enjoy each other's company. We did not get to enjoy the outdoors much but are already thinking of coming back when we can! You will want for nothing here. Quaint towns nearby to shop and eat. Plenty of things to do at the house as well. The host, Joan, could not have been more kind, responsive or accommodating to our needs. My only complaint is it's soooo comfy you won't want to go home! So go, stay, enjoy and tell Joan we say Hi!

Birthday celebration

This was a fantastic place to stay. The home is warm and well-appointed, clean, organized, comfortable bedding, and an elevator to transport you and your luggage. There is not anything more that Joan could have provided. Exquisite home, interior and exterior just as described, amazing views, and a wonderful location. Joan could not have been more helpful in terms of suggestions, very communicative and caring. Clear instructions for everything you can think of regarding the home, restaurants, markets, etc. Would definitely rent again, and again!

A group of 11 adults stayed here together, all of whom now consider this place a cherished spot. Every room has thoughtful touches and beautifully arranged comforts. Wonderful views of the river, fantastic kitchen for group meals, and enough space for everyone. Joan as a host was next-level in her welcome communication and kindness. We felt completely able to focus on simply enjoying cozy, quiet time with our group without worrying about whether we had what we would need. The house feels personal and established, like staying at one’s own family home, with every need seemingly already considered and planned for in its offerings. It’s clear that Joan cares about this home and about guests having a good experience. The five star reviews from every past guest are well deserved.

Amazing!

We had 12 family members staying at this gorgeous home. Ages ranging from ages 2 to 70. Joan is a such a great host and the house was immaculate upon arriving and decorated beautifully! The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. So many items are provided it made the shopping so much easier. This home offers such beautiful views of the river with multiple decks on the house and outside by the water. Bikes, kayaks, canoe, tubes, toys, firepit! You name it, this house has everything and them some! Thank you Joan!!!

Hidden Oasis

This house has it ALL. It is an absolute dream to stay at. While having easy access to the river from the back yard, you still had a full back yard to run and play in! It was a delight that each bedroom not only had its own bathroom but also balcony, almost as if each was its own bed and breakfast. Staying as a family of multiple married couples, children and young adults, there was always something for someone to be doing! Every part of the house is thought through, including the elevator from car port to any floor! There is so much pride taken in the design and care of this house and it shows in every aspect! Not far down the road was an ice cream shop, strawberry picking and an amazing bagel place! Truly as lovely as the pictures showed it!

Relaxing River House

We could not be happier with our recent stay at the River House in Upper Black Eddy. The house is lovely and appointed with everything you could possible want! Beautiful kitchen? check! Lovely bathrooms? check! Comfy beds? check! bucket of hammers for Ringing Rocks Park? Enough bikes for a platoon of riders? life jackets? kayaks, tubes? Check, Check and Check. Joan has thought of everything. We had initially planned some outings to Sesame Place and other local attractions but the house, river, and nearby bike paths provided all the adventure we needed for six adults and 4 kids under age 5. We look forward to our next stay there!
