The hotel was spotless, the pool was a very nice space. I was fortunate to have it all to myself. It was 2 beautiful days in June, people were able to swim, lay in the lounge chairs outside and use the hottub. They provide a wonderful breakfast, a great location and so much to do in the area.

A very nice hotel and a nice garden which could have been better maintained. The staff was very friendly and the food was nice. We enjoyed our stay at Brakanes hotel. Be aware that it’s no minibar at the room.

Hotellet har ett fantastiskt läge och en underbar utsikt! Väldigt serviceminded personal, då vi fick beställa mat, trots att vi var sena. Reccepetion, matsal och ute var mycket fint och bra, samt frukosten. Rummen var lite slitna, handtaget ut på balkongen, samt var det inte så städat på balkongen. Men utsikten var magisk! Vi är mycket nöjda och skulle absolut åka dit igen. Ett tips, ta en tur upp i bergen till Sysegård äppel odling där de gör cider och öl. Det tar ca. 20 min att gå och dom har en servering där man kan njuta av både utsikt, samt god cider eller öl.

Greatest view probably in my life from my room, though the room is tiny and the bed as well. They dont change towels nor clean the room but the view compensates for everything. The food at the restaurant made me sick twice so I quit eating there.

Loved the location on the fiord. Amazing view! Drinks and food were good and plentiful. Service was good; personnel was friendly and helpful. Could use updates in the bathrooms and a better hot water system.

L’hôtel a une très belle vue. Le jacuzzi (avec supplément) donnant sur le fjord est bien agréable. Par contre, la literie était inconfortable car le matelas était très mou.

If you are drawn to this hotel by seeing it on People of the North, then prepare to be disappointed. The location is lovely and the rooms are large, and of course the view of the fjord is stellar, but there are several areas for disappointment. The dinner menu, for example, remains the same night after night. There is a "white fish of the week," rather than a selection of fish for main courses. There is lamb; it is fine. But if you are at the hotel for several nights, the menu is dull and you might want to eat elsewhere (but "elsewhere" place is not open on Sundays or Mondays, so plan carefully). Breakfast if ample, with many choices, but it can also get repetitive after a few days. Surprisingly, there are no bathrobes nor irons in the rooms. Water pressure is good and the bedding is comfortable. I do not understand why the hotel does not receive more guests from European countries that are now miserably hot in summer; the French, English, and Spanish should be flocking to Norway. Instead, the hotel receives as many as six bus-loads of Asian guests daily, and they stay only one night, and they are loud. I do not understand why the hotel chooses to operate in this manner, but maybe it cannot stay in business otherwise, given the aforementioned lack of vacationers from Europe (and the US). Despite the lovely view and close proximity to the cider route, I did not feel that I was in Norway; I felt that I was visiting Shanghai. There is a nearby public ferry to another fjord, too.

Very unique location just steps away from the fjord. Majestic views! Easily walkable to restaurants,etc. We rented kayaks from the hotel so really convenient.

Amazing views. Hotel staff was super helpful amd courteous. Rooms are clean but a little dated and bathroom was a not in the best condition but the views and convenience more then make up for that. Highly recommend.

Brakanes is a lovely, genteel hotel with beautiful views of the fjords. I’d have given it the toprating but for the very limited and expensive dinner menu and the fact that you had to pay extra for the hot tub.

Stort rum, tyvärr några, 5-6 trappsteg uppför när man hade öppnat dörren, tungt att bära upp resväskan. Bra frukost. Vilken utsikt vi hade över vattnet.

The hotel lobby and restaurant have a charming view (water front), but the room facilities feels renovation needed, such as only one clothes hook inside the bathroom was loosened, water flowed allover after shower, toilet roll was hard to reached (80cm away)…etc. Overall, the price-performance ratio is not high enough
