Once a summer estate frequented by Russian royalty, this popular park complex now contains museums, churches and other attractions.

Komomenskoye, 15km South-East of Moscow center is placed on the banks of the Moskva river and was the summer retreat of the royal family. The origins of the village date back to 1336. The Church of the Ascension was built in 1532 and was one of the first stone structures with "tent roof" architecture. The church is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1994.
