The lady at reception is really lovely and helpful. It was great to have somewhere to stay that welcomed our dog as well. It would be better if the smoke alarms weren’t directly over the bed as I found the light from it shone in my face all night.

Convenient place for short stay

Lovely place just off the highway outside Townsville. Great for short stay on way up East Coast. Very clean and helpful friendly staff.

Clean, basic, cheap room is what we needed and thats what we got. Lovely comfy beds. Not much pressure in shower but its hot snd gets alot hotter if someone flushes the toilet, but happy with our stay

Comfy and friendly hotel

Linen was lovely and fluffy. Hotel staff were very lovely and helpful. Room had a microwave which was handy too.

Very basic, although convenient as beside highway and pets allowed. Nevertheless I feel it is overpriced, they also charge an additional $10 per pet.

Prima hotel naast snelweg (Billabong)

Wij verbleven hier, omdat we de dag erna naar Billabong Sanctuary gingen en dit was er super dichtbij (2,5km). De eigenaresse (denk ik) checkte ons in, super vriendelijk! De kamer had 3 losse bedden dus dit was voor ons ideaal met 3 personen. De handdoeken ruikten heerlijk naar wasmiddel en er waren genoeg faciliteiten op de kamer. Alles niet het meest nieuw meer, maar wel netjes en prima voor nachtje tijdens reizen.

Just out side of Town

The motel was only a short drive into town and the owner was lovely. She helped us with directions and parking for the football game which helped very much. The room was on the smaller side but was everything we needed with 2A & 2C for a 1 night stay. This motel is on the highway but once the room was closed and air-cond on you couldn't even hear the traffic. We had a wonderful stay and would go there again.

The ease in making an online booking to the reception I received on arrival, made one feel like they were home, Everything about my stay provided me with complete satisfaction in all respects: the central location / convenience / accesablity then the allocated room, once inside, it left a very evident & appealing reason to enjoy my stay, Very comfortable to say the least & all facilities were of the highest order, to then, appreciating the fine breakfasts coupled with the friendly nature from the owners. It was a really enjoyable overall experience & I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue for any of my friends or others, and look forward to my re-visiting the Sunbird Motel in the future. Rude management

Wanted accommodation in Townsville, the Sunbird came in the top of the search for Townsville, got there and discovered they were a 30minute drive from the centre of Townsville, needed to be closer due to transportation. asked if we could cancel to which they said ok, then rang to confirm cancellation and they abused us and charged full price of accommodation without us even being there. they then wouldn't take our phone calls.

Forte odeur d'urine dans la chambre : les draps d'un lit étaient jaunes ! Dans la salle de bain : douche et wc. Le lavabo se trouve dans le coin cuisine à côté du frigo, et sert aussi pour la vaisselle... Pas d'internet : soi-disant en panne jusqu'à notre départ...
