I’m still processing this stay and have become sick, maybe due to the uncleanliness of staying in this studio. I thought from all the good reviews we chose a great place. Firstly, location requires too much walking to anything (we mostly caught Uber). On the first day, our shower head was clearly broken and would not stay in place in the latch, because of this it kept falling! Told the owner and he said no one can come until Tuesday morning, 3 days later and a day before we left. We said fine, nothing we could do about it.
But it only gets worse. Later that night as I was in the bathroom I saw a HUGE cockroach between the shower and washing machine. If you see one, this means the building and studio are infested with them. I was hoping I was wrong and that it could be another type of bug, but upon messaging the owner he confirmed that it is indeed a roach and they try to “disinfect monthly to avoid this”. All I received was a sorry with no further actions. When I prodded about what’s to be done next he said the technician would disinfect when they come for the shower.
We decided to stay the night at another hotel and gave the ok to the owner for the technician to come inside while we weren’t there.
Tuesday came and I received a message from the owner hours later stating that the technician couldn’t fix the shower…? “It’s more complicated than we thought”. When I followed up on this he said “technician would have to drill into the wall”, well what’s the point of a technician then?
When I asked what was done about the roaches he stated a maid “disinfected”, we did not give permission for a technician AND maid, we thought it’d just be the technician. But upon returning to the studio it was obvious nothing was done. Everything was untouched. I asked for a receipt/proof that he had people come by for the shower malfunction and roach “disinfection” and he stopped responding since.
Terrible attitude from the owner with no way of resolving the issues at all.
