Tomen y Rhodwydd Castle

We stayed in a classic double bedroom, it was very spacious and clean but there are no sockets by any of the mirrors so if you want to wash yr hair you cannot use a hairdryer or straighteners by a mirror. You also have problems putting make up on as the lighting in the rooms are rubbish.

Great location, was a little noisy at 2 to 3 am but very clean spacious hotel

We had a lovely stay but felt for the price the luxury touches were very much missing. £350 a night and Nescafe in the room (awful), cheap biscuits, UHT milk when there is a fridge for milk, no mini bar?! Toiletries nailed to the wall in the bathroom, no speaker system or any modern technology touches... Felt like something you would find in a cheap B&B and really let the huge, lovely room down. All the staff on site were wonderful, couldn't do enough for you. The bar/lounge area was really lovely, had a live singer on Saturday night which was a nice touch, however when he finished they had no music on at all, killing the nice vibe instantly... Little things that to us matter as we had choose to stay in the hotel for the evening... We had 2 hours in the spa for the extra £20 per person, we really enjoyed this, it is a lovely space. We decided on breakfast in bed, it wasn't cheap but they never are, it was excellent though, superb quality and selection. It is a little out the way but we got an Uber to Alberts Dock in minutes for about £6. This hotel could be great if the finer luxury touches are addressed for the price per room.
