Let me start by saying that I waited several days to do this review to make sure I am giving an objective opinion. I also waited for our trip to be completed, as we stayed in three different places along the coast and I wanted something to compare it to. So here it is:
Pros: The location really couldn't be better. The view is amazing ( overlooking the beach) and it was our favorite beach along the coast. It was peaceful and slower- paced and not too far of a drive to explore surrounding area.
Cons: I really don't like giving negative reviews, but I can't shake this one. After staying in two other places, I realized I wasn't just being picky and it really was as bad as I thought. The place is actually quite cute and has a lot of potential, however it needs a good scrubbing from top to bottom. There were bugs and spiders everywhere, not to mention the dead bugs in all the corners. We ended up washing every dish before use because there were too many dirty ones to trust that any were clean. It also wouldn't hurt if they provided a few more/updated utensils, since the only spatula was wooden and we had to use a cheese slicer instead (yes, that happened...wasn't funny at the time, kinda funny now). When we pulled out the hide-a-bed, there was a dirty blanket (stains included) stuffed inside. This was the only blanket for that bed, therefore my son slept with only a sheet for the three nights we were there and it got a bit nippy at night. Yes, we could have washed the blanket...however there was not enough detergent provided to do this (again...ugh). One last note: if there are people staying upstairs (we got lucky and they were only there the first night) you can hear everything (I mean everything) they are doing. It sounded like a construction crew was remodeling upstairs.
So...to summarize: we would definitely recommend Oceanside (amazing!), but not this property.
