The property was in a nice neighborhood. Our room was in the basement which was poorly ventilated. The laminate floor was water damaged and breaking apart. The bathroom was dirty and the shower didn’t work properly. We notified the front desk on Friday, but it was never fixed through our stay the following Thursday. We were asked to use the common bathroom two floors up. There was no linen service for the week. Because of the poor ventilation, no air conditioning, or screen on the window, there was no real way to cool or dehumidify the room. Leaving the window completely open to bugs or other was not an option. It was difficult because of the heat wave and general lack of comfort s, which we do realize is a regional norm.

The staff were so helpful when I had an issue (my own mistake). The rooms are great, decent size for London. Bar food was tasty and not overpriced. Air conditioning was very powerful - needed in the 34° evening temperature. Good for transport links.

We had a lovely stay. The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff are all wonderful and friendly and helpful. Everyone from the doormen to reception, restaurant staff, right through to the staff who cleaned our rooms were all so nice and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely with an excellent selection and opportunity to order an omelette if you wished. Our room was nice, very clean and a good size. Staff turned down your room in the evening. Only removed one star because in places the hotel needs a little bit of refurbishment. But we had a truly wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

This place is beautiful. They put a lot of thought into all the details. A true boutique feel. I would absolutely stay again. It is walking distance to King’s Cross Station and the surrounding area is delightful. The only reason I docked it a star is due to the check in process. I booked the place about 48 hours before arrival. They reached out through Expedia asking the time I expected to arrive and they advised I needed to fill a form out. I replied with my arrival time and I advised them the form wouldn’t open correctly (I am a tech capable individual). I did not hear back prior to the day of check in. I understand I had a short booking turn around time, but it shouldn’t have been an option if it would be too much to accommodate. I arrived on check in day a bit early with my luggage just wanting to ask if they could hold it until my room was ready. They did agree to do so, but they looked incredibly put out and acted as if I was really bothering them. I had replied asap on Expedia and had done everything they asked me to that I could. The service could have been friendlier over all. I also don’t perceive this was a cultural difference thing.

Given the price for a room in this hotel, I was disappointed by the standard of maintenance. Room 443, the TV screen kept breaking up,the remote control didn't work properly, the shower leaked under the door and the flexible shower arm was coming apart revealing the plastic pipe inside. On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Another point to note for those with mobility issues, its at least half a mile to the nearest tube station.
