Lake Jocassee, the gorgeous blue heart of the Jocassee Gorges, is actually a man-made lake. It was created when the Jocassee Dam was built in 1973. ... flooding the town.  Attakulla Lodge, an old hotel, is still standing at the bottom of Lake Jocassee, under 300 feet of water. You can  dive here and see a gas station and the cemetery.
Construction on Stumphouse tunnel began in 1856 when the George Collyer Company of London brought many Irish workers into the area for this project. Many of the workers lived in housing on top of Stumphouse mountain called Tunnel Hill. It is amazing to see this up close.
A park with some little waterfalls with some beautiful scenery and a footbridge over it all.
