The hike from Torshavn to the old bishopric and royal residence where the Norwegian King Sverre grew up, takes a few hours. In the Middle Ages Kyrkjebo was the cultural and religious center in the Faroe Islands. The old log house is told to be Europe’s oldest timber building, around 900 years old.
