"Castlehacket House is an amazing place in a very lovely, but remote location. We were very well taken care of in a beautiful room with a lovely breakfast the next day. The hosts took care of all the guests at breakfast with a very personable service and it is somewhere I would not hesitate to return too."

"We enjoyed our 3 night stay. Staff are so helpful and polite, our room was spotless and spacious and the hotel facilities are perfect. Lovley choice of breakfasts and the food in the resturaunt was delicious. We will definately be returning."
"More real chairs needed as there are two of us travelling. A working fridge to chill some wine and other perishables would be welcome.
There seem to be a lot of unnecessary security doors that made ingress/egress cumbersome.
Having bus access to Eyre Square was a handy alternative to a taxi before 6pm. Having the Spar convenience store nearby offered handy fast food choices
Staff were very helpful in explaining how to book local tours online without running into (two factor authentication - text message) restrictions ---great!!!!!"
"A very nice hotel. Limited extras, no free biscuits provided with in room tea and coffee. Limited chef cook breakfast dishes. eg no avocado on toast or kippers"
"The hotel has a beautiful lobby and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The common areas made a great first impression, and the service we received was good.
Unfortunately, there were several issues with our room that significantly impacted our experience. The bathtub appeared to have a large yellow stain running down it, which looked unclean and was quite off-putting. The shower was also very difficult to use because the water temperature constantly fluctuated between extremely hot and very cold, making it uncomfortable to shower.
The biggest issue was a door stopper positioned immediately inside the room near the entrance. It seemed unnecessarily placed and was difficult to notice. I struck my toe on it very hard, causing it to bleed, and I am fairly certain it was broken as a result. This injury had a significant negative impact on the remaining two days of our trip to Ireland. I strongly recommend that the hotel either remove the door stopper or relocate it closer to the wall to prevent future guests from being injured.
While the lobby and staff were excellent, the room maintenance and safety concerns unfortunately detracted from what could have been a much better stay."
"The breakfast was so disappointing, not enough staff. No structure in getting people seated. No glasses or plates this morning for 30 mins. Long waiting to get order placed for breakfast. Didn't seem to replenish items for breakfast. The staff were helpful just overworked and couldn't cope with the number of people. We went early first morning and later today. Breakfast was better later. We have stayed numerous times in this hotel and never found it like this before. Breakfast let them down, people beside us had the same opinion."
"Room was clean and the staff were great to us. Hotel’s location was also great. 5 minute walk to the city centre, train, bus station, and Lidl (supermarket). Only thing that could have been better is a little bench for luggage and possibly another chair. We were two people so it would get crammy at times. Also, the walls are thin. Everything can be heard from the hallway. Luckily we had a corner room so it wasn’t bad at all. Overall, we would definitely come to the Dean again!"
