"We've been visiting this place for decades and our most recent visit, since taken over by Sunday, fell short of expectation. Maybe teething or transitional issues but the place has lost its charm. We were surprised to be charged for swimming, £12 pppd, this had always been included previously. We went down to the bar and restaurant for dinner but left within 10 minutes as there was no atmosphere at all, you could hear a pin drop, no music or TV on, no one wanted to speak. We chose a table to sit on and it hadn't been cleaned, can't say the bar staff were run off their feet... The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are always clean, fresh, with everything you need. Now you have to request housekeeping via an App, it will not be done routinely. Obviously these companies want to find every way to increase profit but it might come at detriment to what makes this place lovely. Not sure we'll be back."

"The breakfast was very overpriced. The room was very attractive, historic and clean. The bed was comfortable. The family enjoyed the pool. Major complaint was that it was a hot day, the air conditioning wouldn't work and to make it worse, the heat wouldn't go off. "

"We had the most wonderful Easter weekend in this Cotswolds haven. Perfectly placed to access Stratford Upon Avon and the beautiful Cotswolds towns. The cottage was absolutely perfect - clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The hot tub was a real treat and our children loved feeding the alpacas and goat! We hope to visit again one day! "

"Beautiful farmhouse which worked well for our group of 11. The house was very comfortable and we all enjoyed the open fire and hot tub. The kitchen was extremely well equiped and there is ample seating across the lounge areas. The garden appeared fully enclosed for our small dog although he could get under the gates to the adjoining field and under front to the road, this wouldn’t be an issue for a larger dog. Only improvements we could suggest would be tissues in the bathrooms rather than cotton buds and some beer glasses in the main house although there were some across the driveway in the games room. But a great property , highly recommended ."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Shire Cottage. It was stylishly presented and spotlessly clean - it felt like new. The cottage was well equipped, airy, comfortable and light and so quiet and tranquil. The location is excellent for exploring Stratford upon Avon and the nearby Cotswolds. Fresh flowers were also a delightful touch - we would love to stay again and would highly recommend."
