"We had an amazing stay at the cottage. The river was right across the cottage where we spent the whole day kayaking and canoeing.. The place was clean and all amenities provided. It was a comfortable stay overall. Leslie was prompt in responding to all my questions and also suggested places to visit in the vicinity.Definitely recommend."

"We stayed at Balsam Retreat for 3 nights with Our Family of 10 and our Little Dog Lily. It was PERFECT for us. There was LOTS of Space and Beds for Everyone. We spent lots of Time in the Backyard. We used the Firepit Every Night and the Kids LOVED the Trampoline. We also Enjoyed Movie Night in the COZY Family Room downstairs. Would DEFINITELY Recommend to Anyone wanting a Nice Place to stay in Muskoka. We LOVED it!!Kathy F.July 2026"

"We had an amazing stay! The staff is lovely and very efficient. The place was very clean. Beds were comfy and very clean as well. We had everything we needed and the beach was beautiful. There was always a canoe there when we wanted to go for a paddle no matter what time of day. (They were never all out) We had a fire every night. The lake is spectacular with the Oxtongue river just a 15 min paddle away. We hope to return in the near future."
