Lakeside Abode at Taylor Bay | Lake Eildon
Nestled along the Taylor Bay shoreline this ‘Pan Abode’ cedar cabin epitomises a lakeside getaway. Located on an acre of native bushland in the picturesque Kookaburra Cove at the far end of Taylor Bay Left Arm Road, the property boasts deep water frontage, ensuring direct lake access regardless of the lake level.
Vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows frame the breathtaking views of Lake Eildon from every room of this retreat. Perfectly sized to accommodate a family or up to two couples for a weekend away or a longer holiday, the perfect location of Taylor Bay is Lake Eildon’s closest waterfront hamlet to Melbourne and this house is one of Taylor Bay’s best!
Beautifully refreshed with contemporary amenities the home offers a spectacular view across the lake with frequent visits from native wildlife including kangaroos, parrots, rosellas, cockatoos and kookaburras. We provide bird seed and the birds will often feed from your hand. A central open plan living domain overlooks expansive timber decking for a seamless indoor/outdoor experience. Large indoor and outdoor dining tables cater for all guests comfortably, and with a fully equipped kitchen including a 900mm gas stove/oven, full sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave, rice cooker and sandwich press you will be able to be fully self-sufficient for your stay. Custom made furniture and beautiful leather lounges add to the appeal of the large living area. The floorplan includes two bedrooms serviced by two bathrooms and signature views of the native flora and fauna from each room. Beds are fitted with electric blankets, doonas and pillows (please bring your own linen and towels).
Enjoy the freedom of a lakefront property with water sports, swimming and beautiful nature experiences on the doorstep. Best shared with those you love, the home promises an effortless stay with a wood heater for winter, air conditioning and ceiling fans, hammocks and deck chairs on the deck, BBQ, a 65 inch TV, WiFi, table tennis table and a multitude of board-games provided for family and friends to enjoy.
Early check in and late check out are often possible and will be confirmed a few days prior to your stay. Pets are welcome but please note that the property is not fenced.
Please note that Left Arm Rd is an unsealed gravel road, approximately 3 km in length. The property is accessible by 2WD, with undercover parking for up to two vehicles. If you are towing, we recommend using a 4WD or AWD for easier access. There is space on the property to turn your boat around and store your trailer. For boat launching, we recommend using the Alliance Boat Ramp in Eildon or the Main Ramp at Lake Eildon National Park. While there is no jetty or pontoon, you are welcome to moor your boat at the front of the property (stakes are provided).
Equipped to enjoy contemporary comfort amongst an outdoor haven, we look forward to welcoming you to the serenity of our Lakeside Abode, we know you will love it!

Paula was very responsive and accommodated our late check out when possible. We brought SUP boards and it was easy to access the lake from the property. Pantry was also very well stocked.Note the BYO linen bring plenty of insect repellent for mozzies at night. Would book again.
Awesome location, great views. Grab a book and relax in the hammock. Great house for a family or friends catch up. We loved the morning coffees and afternoon bubbles on the deck. Dogs loved hanging out on the deck and sniffs around the lake.
Everything you could possibly need in the most beautiful secluded location.. House is great, and the deck overlooking the lake is amazing! Host was very friendly and quick to respond.
We spent a wonderful time staying at this cozy home. Amazing views, easy access to the lake, well stock kitchen, plenty of board games to play with, comfortable beds, quick drive to town. Loved relaxing by the deck and were grateful we were able to bring our little dog.
We had a great stay! The property had everything we needed and was very easy to access and communicate with owners .The drive up was a little steep, but totally worth it for the beautiful views once you arrive. It was so nice to sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet, with the added bonus of hearing the local wildlife and birds. A really lovely spot for a relaxing getaway. Thank you Paula .

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
We really enjoyed our time at Lakeside Abode. It was clean and comfortable and the views were spectacular. The only negatives were that the main access road was quite narrow and a bit dangerous and tv reception was very limited and radio coverage nonexistent.
Amazing location where able to spend time by the water. The house was perfect and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing few days. Owners were easy to communicate with and made the check in/out process smooth. Thanks again for such a great getaway!

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
we had no communication with the host. The house was not clean, for example, dog hair on the carpet, no dust bins in the toilets, and bedrooms, mold smell in the secondary bathroom, the freezer was full of old inedible food, which did not make us want to use the freezer. As for the fridge, we had no idea how old was the food there. We were asked to clean the place and to take our garbage. It seems like the place is handled mainly by the guests. This is not expected for such a price.
