About this property
1 Bed in Taunton (oc-oldli)
With the spectacular Exmoor National Park and the beautiful Brendon Hills just on the doorstep, this charming cottage is in an ideal location for keen walkers, cyclists and nature-lovers. You will also be perfectly placed for exploring the stunning Quantock Hills and the fabulous West Somerset and North Devon coastline. There are plenty of attractions to keep the whole family entertained, including Wimbleball Lake with its water sports, Dunster Castle, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. Step back in time and board a steam train on the West Somerset Railway that takes you through the beautiful Somerset Countryside. You could head to the coast and enjoy seaside resorts including Minehead, Watchet and Brean Sands with their year-round dog-friendly sandy beaches. This really is the perfect spot to explore the very best of both Somerset and North Devon.
On entering this charming and attractive single-storey barn conversion, which is approached via six external stone steps, you will find yourself in the welcoming and comforting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With comfy seating, Smart TV, DVD, and a traditional wood burner, the inviting and attractive lounge is an ideal space to unwind in at the end of a wonderful day. You will also find a delightful dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need including an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. A washing machine and clothes airer can be found in a utility room shared with the other properties on-site. Exploring this cosy ground-floor property further you will find a snug and comfy king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower and WC.
Stepping outside, you can relax on the enclosed patio with seating, facing west for the most glorious sunsets. A selection of outdoor games and a BBQ are available on request. You are also invited to share and explore the 6 acres of surrounding land which are sometimes home to cows and sheep too. We are very dog-friendly and have a dedicated dog wash area for those muddy/beach walks and if the 3.5 acre paddock is free of sheep, then this is the perfect spot to let your dog get some exercise, right outside the property.
