Balcony Views of Old & New Tashkent. Full Kitchen, Metro, Food Street, Park
Some apartments give you a bed. This one gives you a city.
Tashkent Nest is a bright one-bedroom apartment in the NRG U Tower complex on Bunyodkor Avenue, in the centre of Tashkent. It has a balcony, panoramic windows, a full kitchen, a washing machine and a 160 cm double bed behind a glass door. The reason guests remember it is simple: step outside, and the whole city opens up in front of you. The whole apartment is yours, nothing is shared, and almost everything you want to do in the evening is within walking distance.
THE VIEW: TWO TASHKENTS IN ONE FRAME
Stand on the balcony and look straight ahead and to the right. This is the new Tashkent: glass towers, Tashkent City, a skyline that is still growing. Now turn to the left. This is the old Tashkent: the rooftops of the older quarters, the domes of madrasas, and, far on the horizon, the turquoise dome of the Centre of Islamic Civilisation. The two halves of the city sit side by side, and you can see both without leaving your chair.
By day, the view is wide and full of light. Panoramic windows and glass partitions let the sun travel through the whole apartment, from the bedroom to the living room and the kitchen, so mornings here start bright and unhurried. Bring your coffee out to the balcony and watch the city wake up.
THE VIEW AT NIGHT
Then evening comes, and the apartment changes.
As the light fades, the towers of Tashkent City begin to glow, and the windows of the city switch on one by one. The old rooftops on the left settle into the dusk, and the dome on the horizon turns into a quiet silhouette. It is a slow, beautiful change, and you watch it from your own balcony with a cup of tea, a glass of something cold, or nothing at all but the view.
The city lights do not stay outside. Through the glass of the bedroom and the living room they become part of the interior, a gentle glow in the room. Whether you are home after dinner, planning tomorrow, or simply sitting in silence, the room has the feeling of a city that is alive just beyond the glass. When you are ready for sleep, close the glass door of the bedroom, sink into the 160 cm bed, and let the glow stay outside.
For couples, this is the evening you travelled for. For solo travellers, it is the moment the trip starts to feel like yours.
A SHORT WALK TO EVERYTHING: NO TRAFFIC, NO TAXIS
Tashkent is a big city, and moving across it can take time. Here, you do not have to. The location is the second reason guests choose this apartment: dinner, coffee, shopping, entertainment and the metro are all on foot, so your evenings are spent enjoying the city, not sitting in it.
- Food street: a lively food street begins about 20 metres from the building and runs along Bunyodkor Avenue towards the Milliy Bog' metro. Restaurants, including places with national cuisine, coffee spots and evening crowds. Stand with your back to the building and it is on your right. - Groceries: the well-known Korzinka supermarket is about a 5-minute walk, for breakfast supplies, snacks, water and everything for the kitchen. - Metro: a metro station is right across the road, and Milliy Bog' station is a 10-15 minute walk along the food street. - Shopping and entertainment: Magic City and Tashkent City Centre with Tashkent City Mall, plus a wide choice of restaurants, are all about 10 to 25 minutes on foot. - Samarkand Darvoza: the area is named after one of the city's historic gates, the start of the road to Samarkand, and is now a lively district with a large shopping and entertainment mall. - Milliy Bog' Park: the building stands between Samarkand Darvoza and Milliy Bog' Park, so you can finish a day of sightseeing with a slow evening walk. - Chorsu Bazaar: about 30 minutes on foot at a relaxed pace, or a short ride if you prefer.
The result is a rare thing in a big city: you can have a full evening out, with dinner, a stroll, shopping and a coffee, and be back on your balcony without a single taxi ride or traffic jam.
THE APARTMENT
The apartment is designed for two guests, and it is a real home, not a hotel room.
The bedroom sits behind a glass door. It has a large 160 cm double bed and direct access to the balcony, so the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night is the city.
The living room is a calm place to sit back. There is a small sofa to relax on (it is a seat, not a sleeping place), a flat-screen TV and a small dining corner for breakfast or a late supper.
The kitchen is fully equipped for real life, not only for making tea. It has an oven, a hob and a microwave, so you can cook breakfast, prepare dinner after a day at the bazaar, or just warm up what you brought home from the food street.
The bathroom has a shower with a glass door. A washing machine makes longer stays easy: travel light, wash on the go, and stay as long as you like.
Air conditioning and heating keep the apartment comfortable in every season, and free WiFi keeps you connected for maps, messages, work and streaming.
The whole apartment is yours: bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. Nothing is shared with other guests or with the hosts.
MORNINGS, EVENINGS, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN
Here is how a day at Tashkent Nest can go.
Morning: sunlight moves through the glass, and you take your coffee to the balcony. You pick up fresh groceries at Korzinka five minutes away and cook breakfast in your own kitchen.
Daytime: you head out into the city, whether it is the old quarters, Chorsu Bazaar with its plov and hot bread, or the Hazrati Imam complex, home to one of the oldest Quran manuscripts. For longer sightseeing, ride-hailing apps work well in Tashkent, and a taxi is the easiest way to reach Hazrati Imam and the Centre of Islamic Civilisation.
Afternoon: you walk to Tashkent City Mall or Magic City, or wander through Milliy Bog' Park.
Evening: you walk down the food street, choose a restaurant that smells right, and take your time over dinner. Then you stroll home under the city lights.
Night: tea on the balcony, the towers glowing in front of you, the old city quiet on your left. Then bed, with the glass door closed and the city still shining outside.
YOUR FIRST EVENING IN TASHKENT
Arrive, drop your bags, and do not unpack just yet. Step onto the balcony first and watch the light change over both halves of the city. Then walk down to the food street, twenty metres from the door, and let your nose choose dinner. If you still have energy afterwards, stroll towards Tashkent City or Milliy Bog' Park, then come home to the glow of the towers from your own window. Nothing to book, no driver to wait for, no route to plan. That is the whole idea of this place.
ARRIVING IS EASY
Check-in is self check-in with an electronic keypad lock, from 3 pm. We send you a personal PIN code before you arrive, so you can come at your own pace. There is security staff at the building entrance; you simply tell them which apartment you are visiting, take the lift, and enter your code. Full step-by-step instructions are sent to you before arrival, and if anything is unclear on the way, a message to us is all it takes.
If you prefer to be met, we can arrange an airport pick-up on request.
Check-out is by 12 noon and just as simple: take your belongings and close the door firmly behind you. That is all.

WHO WILL LOVE IT HERE

GOOD TO KNOW
This is a lively central neighbourhood. The food street along Bunyodkor Avenue is busy with people and cafes in the evening, which is wonderful if you want the city right at your door. The dome of the Centre of Islamic Civilisation is visible on the horizon; our photo of it was taken with a zoom lens, so in real life it looks smaller and further away.
The apartment sleeps two guests. We are not able to host children at the moment, and there is no baby cot. No smoking, no parties or events, and no pets. Quiet hours are from 11 pm to 7 am.
YOUR HOSTS
We are a local family, and we live in Tashkent. Your host, Clarahon, worked in clinical medicine for more than 30 years. She prepares every apartment the way she would for her own family, and cleanliness comes first. She speaks Russian, and her husband and sons help our guests in English. We give you privacy during your stay, but we are always one message away. Ask us anything, from where to find real plov to how to plan the road to Samarkand and Bukhara.
Come for the view. Stay for the evenings. Tashkent is waiting outside your balcony.
