「What is advertised on the page is not what it looks like in person . It’s rundown and can use an upgrade. Pool was dirty as if they didn’t even attempt to make an effort to clean. Honestly, we didn’t expect much for the price we paid. If you plan to visit surf city and looking for a place to just crash and not expecting much this is it. It is roughly a few minutes walk to all the restaurants, beach and nightlife. The AC & the shower worked well so that’s a plus. 」

「This place is so-so. The photos make it look better than it actually is. It’s a bit far from the beach, but close to the main trucks and cars route. There’s a church close by, so you can hear people singing at night for a couple of hours—not too bad, though. The breakfast is okay, nothing out of the ordinary. The staff are not very friendly; they just do their job. I don’t think I would stay here again. I would give it a 5 out of 10.」

「Lady at the front desk stated My card got declined and asked me to pay her in cash. It was all a lie because when I told her I had no cash she proceeded to process my payment with the same card it was “declined” and payment went through with no issues. While getting my information she kept telling me about how easy it was just to pay her with cash. Very awkward moment and definitely something fishy was going on. Next time will consider other options before this one.」

「This is such a great hidden gem. Only a quick (less than 10minute drive) from the beach town of El Tunco. If renting a car, there is safe parking available on the Casa Maya property and parking lots for a fee ($3) at El Tunco.
