"Chichibu Saitama is an amazing oasis with easy access from Ikebukuo. With most izykaya's offering Ichiro's Malt Whisky just makes it even better. Many shrines are also in the area and all are easy to walk to. Nipponia is an INCREDIBLE place to stay with every aspect exceeding my expectations. "The modern hotel itself is a great facility set in a modern library setting with a variety of interesting books free to peruse. The two outstanding problems with this hotel are (1) access by public transportation is very limited, forcing the guests to hire a taxi to convenient nearby train stations such as Tokorozawa station costing 2,400-2,600 yen each way, and (2) the breakfast purchased optionally is practically the same throughout your stay—three different kinds of sandwiches. There are no readily accessible eateries nearby. "
