Spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with warm pool and helpful owner.
The villa is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The beds and sofas are all very comfortable. There were also plenty of mugs and plates and even some beer glasses.
The pool is small but big enough to swim in and heated to a perfect temperature even on cooler days (and I know I'm very fussy about this). Beki was very helpful both before we arrived and when we were there.
The main/ one drawback was the road noise as the villa is very close to the main road. Although the road isn't particularly busy, there are rumble strips literally right by the villa which makes traffic noisier, especially lorries which started about 6am.
The desert scenery was very striking and the local town seemed pleasant. It's worth climbing up to the top of Tabernas castle for the view but if you're going to get directions from Google Maps look for the car park as this is where the path starts from. The castle in Almeria is also well worth a visit. It is landscaped inside the walls including with water features; not on the scale of the Alhambra but still very attractive.
We found the local restaurants rather hit and miss. Whilst the food and service were generally good, the opening hours weren't terribly convenient and often more than one item on the menu was off.
