the owner took my booking and payment...on arrival the owner refused and knowlegde of this.....i had no accommodation for 2 nights

Beautiful quaint guesthouse in Swellendam

Beautiful quaint guesthouse in a quiet location and easily accessible off the N2. Perfect stopover spot recommended to us by friends. Will definitely be coming again.

nice. No restaurant

it is a nice B&B. We got a nice reception from the owner and Edgar. But.. on the site it says that there is a restaurant inside but the owner told us that this restaurant was no longer there since March last year! Why is it still mentioned then?! That was a disappointment for us. There were luckily good restaurants on walkable distance, but still you expect a nice and cosy restaurant inside. Breakfast was good. Nice little town with Nice musea. Field and Fork is a very Nice restaurant you have to make reservations. The Old gaol is also very Nice and local. Field and Fork is fine dining.

Unser Zimmer auf zwei Ebenen mit Balkon in einem hübschen historischen Häuschen hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Zimmer war mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. An einigen Stellen hätte jedoch - bei aller Berücksichtigung des historischen Wertes - etwas Hand angelegt werden können (z.B. hätte der Duschkopf mal eine Tiefenreinigung vertragen). Das Zimmer verfügte darüber hinaus über keine Klimaanlage, sodass es doch recht warm drin war. Besonders hervorzuheben, ist das angegliederte Restaurant, das man sich auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen sollte.

Not for people with mobility problems

I thought we we gettting an en suite bathroom only to find the bathroom was downstairs and the bedroom was upstairs , however, Agnes, the wonderful hotel manager, made the impossible possible by helping my husband up and down stairs and steps and bringing our breakfast to us
