I was grateful to get a booking only a few weeks before the holiday weekend but certainly wish the reviews had steered me another way. Reviews are hard because not everyone's wonderful is the same. Nor everyone's terrible. For us though, this experience in this house was not good. First it's managed by a vacation rental company who seem to have too many to manage well or attend to details. We had to jump through many hoops and waivers and uploads off VRBO, which I am not comfortable with. Then we got there. There was no heat downstairs where the master bedroom is. There's also a beautiful rec room down there, sauna, pool table, cozy furniture to watch TV - but with no heat and bitter temperatures outside the whole bottom floor wasn't an option. The upstairs where 2 more bedrooms are and a little games area is was about 95º. I had to open all the windows at night just so the kids could sleep up there. I tried to reach the "host" from my VRBO app but they never answered through there. I searched online for a phone number, the instructions often led nowhere. Finally they told me instructions for the downstairs thermostat but those instructions were for a different house they managed. They delivered space heaters. Everything was dirty or broken. The cabinet under the sink doesn't have a floor. There wasn't any hot water at the kitchen sink. I've reached my word count limit but not the end of my list of reasons this house is a 1 star.
