The whole place is immaculate, clean, beautiful and serene. I loved the smell of the rooms, very homey and relaxing. The garden is gorgeous and the breakfast was perfect. The hosts were so kind and considerate, I will never forget this visit.
Absolutely beautiful place, very big room and very comfortable and specious, breakfast was good with everything is home made, and the owner is very helpful
We enjoyed a lot staying in a tranquil super clean, and unique B&B in the heart of the Historic Sucre city. Carmen ( our host) was very helpful to plan our visit and recommended us not only the main landmarks also the best restaurants.
Amazing gardens and beautiful top roof to enjoy at night the view of the city. It was a blast
It is a nice place where to stay with a lovely patio and outside area. However there are problems with the room. Unfortunately there is no air con and at night it gets very hot which makes it difficult to sleep. There are also a lot of mosquitos which, especially in light of a yellow fever pandemic in Bolivia, is not good. Finally there was loud music coming from the street for most of the night which added to all of the above made it difficult to rest. Shame as the property itself looks very nice.
This was the perfect place to stay while traveling through Bolivia with a stopover in Sucre! The gardens were so relaxing, the breakfast was delicious, and the room super comfortable. I would stay here again!
Excellent! The property is well maintained, the gardens are beautiful and they made a great job maintaining the colonial essence of the city on their decor, the breakfast was plenty and delicious, staff was friendly and helpful, I highly recommend this place.
The hotel is beautiful and located close to numerous tourist attractions. The hosts are wonderful and the check in process was quick and easy. We were provided with a small map with additional recommendations for activities and food. The breakfast each day was quite good and included bread with butter and jam, fruit, drinks and a pastry which varied each day. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking in Sucre.
I had some difficulties during my trip in Bolivia and I was somehow anxious when got to Sucre. But all my worries were wiped away by the super-friendly and extraordinary helpful hostess Mrs. Carmen. She took care of me and all my enquiries regarding tours in and around the city. This is what real service is about. She's also multi-lingual and is the person in the know if you want deep insight about the city ins and outs. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Bathroom is beyond and B&B could offer.
The breakfast was plenty and various. The rooftop views were simply amazing, it is like having your own 360º-viewpoint of Sucre. This place is highly recommended!
Overall, a lovely place to stay. The host greeted us with information and good recommendations for where to eat and what to do. The room was spacious and comfortable with a good sized, clean bathroom. Towels were freshly scented and fluffy. The historic property and its enclosed gardens and terraces are wonderful. There are lots of spaces to relax and enjoy the warm weather. It's a short walk to the centre of town, and attractions in both directions are not far away.
We found only two things detracted from the experience. Rather than asking when guests would like to take breakfast each day, it is left out on tables in the kitchen. It would be better brought out fresh when needed or left in fridges and sealed containers until guests wished to eat it. Also, there sometimes wasn't a lot of fruit left if others had eaten first. The hotel should also have a less rigid policy for cleaning and changing towels. Doing this only on the third day, regardless of the length of stay, is too long. It would be much better to change and clean half-way through a four day stay such as ours. Given that paper could not be flushed, it would also have been nicer to have the bin changed daily, too.

Lovely hotel, sub-standard room and handling
Before arriving, we were told that due to some system error, some of our group’s bookings were moved from El Jardin de Su Merced to Hotel de Su Merced. That was fine by me. Having stayed at this lovely hotel numerous times over the last 20 years, choosing it for our traveling groups, I have always enjoyed my stay in various rooms very much.
Unfortunately, my loyalty over decades was this time “rewarded” with placement in room 23. This turned out to be a small, dark and stale room with no light, air or view. Lying at the dark end of a hall, the only light came in through a small window high up on a wall. It felt more like a prison cell, albeit with a comfortable bed, than a hotel room.
When asking for a change, I was told no other room was available. I don’t doubt that was true, but as this was before noon and some clients had already checked out, this clearly shows prioritizing new incoming clients over existing ones.
To sum it up, I have enjoyed many stays at this hotel. But I was very disappointed both with room 23 and how my complaint was handled. This room is so far below the usual standard that if offered at all, it should be to informed clients and at half the price of other rooms — certainly not charged at the same exact rate. However, my complaint was not met with any such suggestion.
The rest of our group were satisfied with their rooms, as I have been in the past.
It was a real pleasure to stay at Carmen’s wonderful b&b. I had a truly wonderful 4 nights. The property was full of colonial charm & beauty!! The gardens were immaculate & stunning and the junior suite I had, was beautiful, spacious & incredibly comfortable. Carmen couldn’t do enough to help and her advice tips invaluable. The property was a short walk from the main square and the neighbourhood was very pretty & felt very safe. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the property.
I regularly travel to Bolivia, and from the moment I arrived at this hotel, I felt I could have been in one of those beautiful houses in Spain. It was historical, very beautiful, and spotless. Mrs. Carmen was very friendly and helpful. Sucre is a gem and this B&B is a gem too. There are very relaxing surroundings with birds, gardens, patios and many plants and flowers. Where else could I easily walk to the main places of interest and at the same time enjoy the unmatched views from the gardens and terraces? Icannot think of any other hotel. Rates are very reasonable and a lovely breakfast buffet is served. Wifi works all around the house. The room is spacious and gorgeous, delightfully clean, it has a private bathroom with hot shower. I felt totally happy and comfortable in this place and would recommend it highly to anyone.
