Direct access to Maine's best network of ATV & snowmobile trails or ice fishing (winter) out the front door! All the comforts of home, Experience Maine's lake lifestyle at its finest!

The house sits out on a peninsula and you will love the nearly 360 degree view of the lake! Porter Lake is a hidden gem in Maine's Western Mountains; its clean, clear waters are surrounded by pristine nature and endless opportunities for outdoor sports! Whether you enjoy fishing, kayaking, or powerboating and watersports, Porter Lake is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the authentic Maine experience! Get away from the crowds of other more well known lakes and enjoy your very own slice of Maine Paradise any time of the year!

The entire house and property is yours during your stay! Our property is at the end of a private, quiet road and the few neighbors are very friendly! A well equipped general store, gas station, and farm to table restaurant, open 6:00 am to 8:00 pm is only 5 minutes away in Strong. You can get to additional restaurants, bars, shops in Farmington or Kingfield only 20 min either direction. Finally, you will love the proximity to Sugarloaf USA's 162 trails over 1240 skiable acres for skiing, the Maine Huts and Trails network for hiking & mountain biking, the Bigalow Mountains and Appalachian Trail, as well as ITS and Black Fly Loop snowmobile trails and cross country skiing, snowshoeing trails just out the door! Saddleback Ski Resort is 45 min away. For security, we have an outdoor camera at the front door/driveway area and a noise decibel monitoring device. 



We supply all linens, bath towels, beach towels, hand towels, etc (we do not supply washcloths). Please check our listing for all other free amenities.

Great spot! We just live over in Oquossoc, but what a nice little getaway! Sweet peninsula, quiet, beautiful property! Although very "moosey" to the right down the shore, we only saw an otter! Made my entire birthday! Thanks for sharing! Great spot

From the moment we pulled up and realized the spot was ours, we were awestruck!….we had our 85lbs Boxer, Max with us in tow and it immediately felt like home, the house is well appointed with everything you would need for a stay, along with the view! The view from all but 2 windows is amazing, and there are a lot of windows! Loved our stay, we canoed, kayak’d and grilled…we loved everything minute of this location…even fished for smallies and had a few real nips….great property and super responsive and accommodating hosts, would recommend over and under over again….we’ll be back!

My family loved our stay at this cozy home on the lake. The views of Porter Lake are stunning and nothing beats having your morning coffee while watching the sun rise up over the lake and listening to the loons say good morning. Being able to kayak or canoe out onto the lake for fishing or exploring the nearby beach was great. My boys found a little island with a rope swing for jumping into the lake and spent a lot of time there having fun. I personally enjoyed floating on the raft chair during the hot afternoons. My dogs felt right at home too running around on the grass and being able to step out onto the lake for a sip of water when they were thirsty. We stayed in most of the time and were able to cook several meals either in the well-equipped kitchen or using the outdoor grill. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed taking naps almost daily especially since we woke up very early most mornings because we didn’t want to miss the beautiful sunrises. Our only slight negative is that we wished the living room area was bigger to accommodate my whole family but the reclining sofa was very comfortable to watch TV in and there were other TVs throughout the house. We would definitely recommend this house for a relaxing week with family.

Jeff and Jess’ lakefront home made for a perfect retreat to relax and take in the peace of the lake and loons. Comfortable bed, nice and clean with everything you need to enjoy yourself. Great communication with the owners throughout the process. Hard to pack our bags and say goodbye. Looking forward to returning.

Great Place

We really enjoyed the property. The interior was nicely updated. The fire pit on the shore was perfect. The ride to Sugarloaf was a little further than expected but the coziness of camp made up for it. Will definitely consider another stay at this property.

ICE FISHING GET AWAY

Great property, exceptional views....the house has great access to the lake. It snowed during our trip, so the large front windows made it a great vantage point to watch the snow and our ice fishing traps.

Beautiful peaceful spot on the pond/lake. We could not have enjoyed our stay more! Clean, well equipped and tremendous view of the pond and mountains. We are already discussing going back next year. Special place!

Wonderful Spring Weekend

Strong Maine Vacation

Beautiful layout for our summer vacation. We Kayaked, fished, used the swim platform and had a really nice time! Weather was perfect and lake was very clean! Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed the lake as well!

Great Lake!

Our group booked this home to spend the 4th of July weekend and we had a good time. The home is on a gorgeous, clean lake and the setting is extremely relaxing and private. We really enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the loons (I have never seen so many)! The owners provided great directions to get to the house and check in was easy. We appreciated the owners leaving kayaks and a canoe for guest use - it was nice to be able to get out on the water! The lake was also great for swimming although we would of appreciated if the ladder had been attached to the dock for our stay. Our dogs loved playing in the yard and swimming with us. The house appears to have been updated recently and was a good size for our group of four adults and two dogs. We appreciate the owners allowing dogs to stay. The house had most everything we needed to prepare meals except we could not find dish towels. We appreciated the space left in the pantry for guest items. Of note, some of the drawers and cabinets were cluttered and these spaces, and some kitchen items, were not as clean as would be expected. The beds were comfortable but there was limited space for guest items in the bedrooms/closets due to the owners storing their clothing/items there. We were able to work around this but our experience would have been improved if there was more space set aside for guest’s things. Would overall recommend this property to those looking for a relaxed stay on a beautiful Maine lake!
