「I gave it 3 stars on staff because this is a hotel that operates essentially without staff. They email you a key code to get into your room, but there is no front desk and no visible staff on sight. I’m sure this is why their prices even while the rooms are nice.」

「Apart from a few stray hairs and very mild stains on the bedding (which seems to be the case at the vast majority of places), the room was very clean and cozy. Well lit room, great shower, immaculately clean bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, good wifi, very effective heater, and (free) parking very close to room. Staff was very welcoming upon arrival, and everything worked as expected, making White Oaks an amazing value for my stay in the area!」

「I had booked to stay here however once I got to the hotel it was not what I expected so I got my money back and went somewhere else. (The staff was very nice to deal with, not her fault.) It smelt like smoke, the chair in the room was stained and disgusting, the bathroom has a cigarette burn in the shower and mold. Unacceptable. 」

「Above all, the room was quiet. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful. I felt that my parked car was absolutely safe. I am thankful for a great stay.」

「Overall, staff and hotel were good. Shower stall floor seemed a bit grimy and the toilet paper holder was broken off. One of the glasses in the kitchen had a lipstick print on it. Other then that we appreciated the location and the 2 bedroom suite. Check in/out was easy.」

「This property was not the location I booked. It was to have been for Holiday Inn, Express, Blowing Rock Rd, Boone, NC. not Maryland. I did not know until I tried to check in and they did not have my reservations. When I learned of the error I sent a message to Expedia to cancel however, I have been charged for the booking. Please respond and advise how I can get a refund on this booking error. I clearly wrote the address of the hotel in Boone when I made the reservations.」

「The guys at the front desk were very helpful and personable. Lobby is small but very pretty and the breakfast area was clean with a good selection of food items. The downside is that the room was chilly so I turned up the thermostat and went to dinner and when we came back it hadn't warmed up at all. Front desk said that the thermostats don't work and that every room is either on heat or air and it was already on air conditioning the first weekend in May! He offered us a portable heater or...
