The Boxley Place Inn

"Beautiful 1800"s home furnished with suitable to the era furniture. There are 5 bedrooms and are unique to their special name. We stayed in the McIntosh Room. Spacious enough for two, with comfortable bed. The only downside is that the bath is a shared bathroom with 2 other rooms, though honestly, we had no problems in sharing the bathroom. We were there just as fall had arrived so to fault the property for not having the leaves etc. picked up was not fair. Breakfast was delicious(quiche, with fresh fruit, bagels & muffins) and the decaf coffee some of the best I've had!"

"You could tell it was an older style hotel that has been remodeled. The doors do open to the outside which is not something I'm generally comfortable with but it was Culpepper, Virginia. A pretty safe place for a single, female traveler. The only real complaint I have is the storage of the cleaning crews carts. They were stored outside along the back walk way. It was raining when I checked in, it made for a difficult walk from my car to my room. Other than that, everything was fine. If you're looking for a good place for breakfast, Frost Cafe was really good. Also, if you like coffee, Ravens Nest is the place to go. For lunch, Dtom, Dtun and Pinto Thai. Both places were really good."

"The property was much larger than expected and included a lake. Our cabin was tucked in the woods off of a one lane paved road, with good parking spaces. We had a few mosquitoes in our cabin, and also a spider that stayed in its upper corner of the bathroom. The beds and pillows in our two bedroom cabin were very comfortable. Most of the channels on the TV were a little out of focus and we were unable to mirror our phones on the TV, even through we had property internet connected. The breakfast in the main lodge was good and reasonably priced. Prices in the General Store were very reasonable compared to typical resorts. Looking forward to another stay at a future date."

"We held a men’s cancer retreat at this property. It is an amazing property. The house is absolutely gorgeous, has an incredibly equipped kitchen and so many comfortable seating areas I don’t think I was able to try them all. The bedrooms are absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The bathrooms look like something out of a designer showcase yet are incredibly functional. The property itself has an amazing yard with every amenity you can imagine overlooking a beautiful lake. The new two story boathouse made me never want to leave. We had men out on the lake in kayaks, playing games, in the hot tub, and I thoroughly enjoyed my naps in the hammocks. We can’t wait to come back."
