COVID-19 has ushered in dramatic changes to the way we travel. If you're planning an escape to St. Kitts, these tips will help you navigate the "new normal:"

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking your flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as undergoing health assessments.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, you should place the pass on the scanner and then hold it up to allow the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag and submitted for screening.
• Place any personal items (like your phone and wallet) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• If you're planning to take food through the security checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
