Mr. Charlie’s studio apartment in Coral Bay truly has some of the most breathtaking views. Sitting on the balcony each morning and taking it all in was easily one of my favorite parts of the trip. The ocean breeze and ceiling fans kept the space comfortable, and we never felt like we needed A/C.The property itself was very clean, modern, and well-equipped with everything we needed—from appliances to cookware—making it easy to prepare meals and feel at home. The location is also great, with Skinny Legs and Dockside Dinghy both within walking distance. Skinny Legs is right by the water with great food and drinks, and Dockside Dinghy is a must-do if you’re comfortable operating a boat.One thing I would definitely recommend is booking a rental car well in advance. We weren’t able to find one anywhere on the island during our stay, so we relied on taxis and occasional rides. While that’s very common in St. John and everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful, the property does sit at the top of a very steep hill with sharp curves, which made some taxi drivers hesitant to go all the way up.We also experienced a full island-wide power outage during our last two nights, which meant no hot water, fans, or ability to charge our phones. While this was completely out of the owner’s control, it did impact the end of our stay. That said, Mr. Charlie was very kind and refunded us for those nights, which we truly appreciated.Overall, we would highly recommend.
