My husband and I took our two kids (ages 2 and 4) to SGI and stayed here for a week mid July. The home was tidy, well equipped and with plenty of room and comfort. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. You will not have to bring any cooking accessories if you stay here. The only kitchen staples that need to be squeezed in the luggage are dish towels, paper towels, and trash bags. Stop on the island for some bottled water for the coffee maker. (Island water is a bit "different", trust me) The dish washer is a bit tired. Does the job, but it's loud as heck so we would run it while we were headed out to do stuff. The dryer that caused such a fuss in an earlier post has, in fact, burned almost all of the linens (very minor, but you'll see the spots when you make the bed) The good news is that I'm pretty confident that it's operator error. The dryer has the option to run for 15-100 minutes. The avg dryer run time is only 40-50 mins. If you put most materials on continual high heat for twice as long as recommended...no shock to me that it damaged stuff. Do your self (and Bucky) a favor and set the time to 45 minutes. The walk to the beach is short. You walk to the bike path in front of the house, down two houses to the road that runs you right into the beach access point. This house is a third row house, so don't expect to be able to hear the surf. It's the Gulf, they don't have the big surf that makes a loud ruckus. The place is kept quite clean. I had to put a toddler rail on a twin bed that slides between the box spring and mattress. Moving the bed to do so didn't result in icky surprise, quite the opposite. I was very pleased with the care that had to have gone into cleaning. Stove, fridge, bathrooms...spotless. Overall this is a really good option for a family. I loved it here, the week went too fast, and I can't wait to go back. Hope this review was helpful! Happy travels!
