The first night you arrive, you will not be able to book any of the speciality restaurants; however, you can always ask if there have been any cancellations. Though if you are staying at the Riu and not looking for a gastronomic revelation, you could avoid the specialty restaurants and stick with the buffet and be fine - you won’t miss much. For those who are booking this place to not have to pay Atlantis prices, know that Atlantis has locked down their property. Guests from outside the resort can only go as far as the casino without paying. When cruise ships dock and the travelers arrive at Atlantis, it can get very crowded. Don’t miss the shows! The dancers are really good and the shows are quite entertaining. The Riu should invest in a good sound person, the sound near the stage is deafening, while it is hard to hear spoken word near the bar. It’s still a good time with endless drinks! The Riu is basically a place to disconnect and recharge - not a lot on offer as far as entertainment but the view is spectacular and the proximity to a wonderful beach is priceless. I would add that they could do a better job at policing careless adults who smoke while in the pool and flick their ashes in the water. There are designated smoking areas but the pool is not one of them. Not this is the Riu’s fault but while we were there, someone had a bowel movement in the bar pool and it had to be shut down for a few hours while they cleaned it. Needless to say, did not swim in it!

Very well appointed condo. Views are incredible. Beach area is small but lovely. Infinity pool was great and perfectly heated. Wonderful pickleball and paddle court that’s surrounded by beautiful foliage and open 24hrs. Staff was helpful and accommodating of our needs for a late checkout.
