"We booked this hotel under the pretense that the resturant was open for business and the taxi price rate was similar to the rest of Ecuador or the reviews in our travel book. Hotel served a nice breakfast BUT no other food is available so one must go into Puerto Ayora for lunch and dinner. The taxi rate to and from hotel into town can be anywhere from $10-$15 each way..... if u want to freshen up after a long tour that will be 4 taxi rides......$40-$60 per day. Lawrence offered us a ride...

"Away from loud noise. Rooms are always cleaned. Staff are very helpful, courteous, friendly. Breakfast choices are simple , good and healthy. Amenities are minimal,
Just no elevator, but tolerable. 3-5 ninutes to town by taxi $2.00 (yes $2.00).
This would have cost me $5-7 in L.A.
I will definitely stay here again."
"Niko and his staff were VERY helpful and kind. They made breakfast from scratch every morning. If you couldn’t make breakfast due to a tour, you just had to tell him and he’d make a box lunch instead. He also gave us recommendations for places to eat and his phone number if needed.
The Maidith was very clean and decorated in a way that made it feel like home away from home.
Thank you, Niko and your Staff! We appreciate you!"
"We loved our stay at Hotel Cucuve. The interior design of the hotel and all it’s spaces are really beautiful. The finishes. Nice. The staff are super friendly, kind, and helpful. The room was great. The bed comfortable. The bathroom nicely sized with a great shower. We also had a big balcony in our room which was a great place to hang out after an amazing day. The other room we rented had a regular sized balcony which was still nice. Both were covered which was nice. I also appreciated that they provided a portable clothes drying stand with the room so we could dry our wet clothes after the beach or excursion. Really thoughtful. We loved our stay."
"We stayed here for three nights in the family suite (a newer building, a short walk from the main reception). It was excellent! They have a pool, a large living room, a kitchen, and hammocks. The room is super clean and modern. It exceeded our expectations and we totally loved it! Really good choice and we 100% recommend this place! They also have free morning coffee as well. Love Love Love."
"We stayed here for 4 nights and really liked it. All of the staff were very pleasant, professional, friendly and accommodating. One of the servers at the breakfast buffet even ran down the street to get an avocado for my vegan niece!! The beautiful restaurant is located on the roof top with nice views of the port and nice breezes blowing through, they even have room service!! The room was spacious with a nice covered deck where you could sit and watch the tropical rain. The a/c was nice and the shower had very good water pressure. The pool was closed for renovations on our first day, but opened the next day and it was so nice to be able to cool down after a hot day! It’s a beautiful blue tiled pool with the perfect temperature . We took advantage of the bikes they offer for free to ride around the quaint town. It is in a nice location, less than 5 minute walk to the docks, multiple restaurants , a deli with vegan options and killer vegan sorbet, an ATM and a super market! The hospital is very close. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel to others."
"Casa Cascada is very clean, comfortable and pretty. The location is great too - an easy 10-minute walk to the port and tourist area, or a $2 taxi ride. There are also lots of great local restaurants that are very cheap on that 10-minute walk from the hotel to downtown. My room was big with air conditioning, a large window and a private bathroom. Although it had two beds, the owners don't ask you to share with any other guests. The owners Rocio and Sandro, and their son Alessandro went above and beyond in being helpful in every aspect, including giving directions, suggesting and connecting me with tours, arranging boat rides to other islands, arranging a taxi to the airport, providing discounts, and offering safety tips. My week-long stay was quite affordable and without a hitch. I highly recommend Casa Cascada."
"We stayed at Hotel Verde Azul for seven nights and greatly enjoyed its laid-back atmosphere. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked well, the bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, the breakfast hours were good (6:30-9:00), the hammocks by the pool were perfect for chilling in the shade during the hot afternoons, the walk down to the waterfront was an easy one, and, best of all the staff were very kind and helpful."
