Clarion Hotel Arlanda Airport Terminal

Clarion Hotel Arlanda Airport Terminal

10/10 Excellent
"As a traveler with celiac disease, it's difficult to find safe food to eat, especially at buffet style breakfasts. However, this hotel had a corner for "special diets" that had gluten-free bread and rice cakes and a toaster. However, while it was not co-located with the regular bread, there weren't any signs telling people not to use the toaster or not to cross contaminate the butter and jam, which were open to the air, so I was too afraid to use them. The gluten-free bread options were also all laid out nicely, but that meant they weren't in sealed wrappers so you couldn't check the ingredients or know that they hadn't been contaminated. I took a gamble on the sliced fruit and yogurt and didn't get sick, and they also had roasted potatoes and bacon which I also gambled on and didn't get sick (living dangerously, I know...) There were hard-boiled eggs in the shell, which are always a safe bet. Lots of cheese and veggies for a typical Scandinavian breakfast, but again, all laid out in the open with tongs and forks so probably contaminated with gluten from other users. Despite being a highly reactive celiac, I didn't get sick from the breakfast here :) , and was able to get enough food for a complete meal that didn't make me sick. Note that there wasn't any "safe" fruit like whole apples or whole bananas - the fruit was all cut up. But it was a fair distance from the bread, so I think most people probably weren't bumping the tongs of the fruit against gluten containing food."

"The standard queen room was clean and quite comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choices, great coffee, and friendly staff. I also appreciated that the location was steps away from central station for easy access from the airport as well as links to commuter trains. The hotel is also within walking distance of shopping and the many attractions of Galla Stan. All in all a good stay!"

"The location is excellent. The central train station is close by. Room was nice and roomy compared to others in Europe. Staff was kind and helpful. 4 star for amenities since you had to pay to use the pool and spa and the price was substantial for the amount of time you got to use it."
