"Great old boutique hotel overlooking the fjord in Aurlandsfjord, Norway. After standing in lines and being surrounded by tourists in other cities, Aurlandsfjord was a wonderful, quiet break from the crowds. It was easy to step outside the hotel and explore the small area or take a walk along the fjord. For our fjord tour, we were picked up right at the shore, just a short walk from the hotel, which was very convenient. We stayed on the fourth floor, which was only accessible by stairs after taking the elevator to the second floor (then two additional flights). This wasn’t an issue or a deal breaker for either my wife or me. The dining room was a highlight of our stay, both for dinner and breakfast. The food was very good, with beautiful views of the fjord, a great atmosphere, and attentive service. It could not have been a better experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Aurlandsfjord."

"This is a remote location close to hiking trails and waterfalls. It is very important to have a car, as it is not close to the cities. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is good, and the rooms comfortable. There are books to read and games to play."
