Wear good shoes and bring a walking stick. The online write ups of this trail aren't entirely correct. It is steep and requires a lot of strength to go down and even more to come up. The little blue sign noted in at least a couple sets of directions online was only coming from the Cherokee side, if I'm not mistaken. Once you go under Blue Ridge Pkwy, keep an eye out for the pull off on the left side of the road within two miles. If you don't see it by then, turn around and go back. Also, it is not a parking lot the way some people say. It is literally just a pull off alongside the road.
