Excellent service, staff friendly, respectful and helpful. Food excellent quality and excellent variety of meals from which to choose. Cooked to perfection. We definitely hope to return for a longer stay. Parking £12/day extra, staff will park car and bring to front when needed. Rooms are provided with glass bottled water, tea and coffee facilities, biscuits, and bathroom has washing products made by Ritual.

All excellent as expected. Wonderful staff, excellent food you were really treated like an important diner. Room was great (shower a little small) huge bath though. You must book if you want parking. Pity cars and vans park outside spoils sea view from patio and restaurant.

Het hotel straalt nog de grandeur van vroeger uit. Het is bijzonder geschikt voor ouderen en mensen die extra zorg nodig hebben. Alleen zijn de kamers zeer gehorig en voelt het niet heel comfortabel om in een bed te slapen met een matras met plastic bescherming.

This is a top hotel to stay. We were in the luxury suite on the top floor, room 306 with a massive bathroom & gorgeous sea views. We were v impressed with the concierge service as we booked parking at the premises. Our luggage was collected and dropped and the concierge moved the car for us. This was fantastic as the spaces are tight. We were there for folk week and really enjoyed the vibes of the festival experienced right by the hotel. Breakfast was excellent too and served (not buffet). Thanks to the reception staff member- sorry I cant remember your name and the Nepalese lady who served us Breakfast. We will be back

Lovely traditional hotel set on the beachfront road overlooking the sea at Sidmouth. We reserved one night and the staff were all very polite and helpful, our room, although a standard classification, was extremely comfortable with a lovely King sized bed, the bathroom was spotlessly clean, towels were all of excellent quality, also a big bonus was having car parking available on site by pre-booking, overall a throughly enjoyable stay at the Riviera we would definitely return.

Very friendly, welcoming staff. Willing and able to help in situations. Lovely hotel with beautiful decor, colours, pictures and interior design. Lovely room 205 with sea view, chairs on small bay window. Most enjoyable. Highly recommended!!👫👍❤️

Everything was perfect, from courtesy parking, reception, cleaning staff, all professional polite and very smartly dressed. Would highly recommend and will definitely book here again if I am planning another trip to Sidmouth.

The hotel is lovely and the staff are very polite and friendly. Situated right on the seafront the front facing room was large with perfect views. We visited at the end of February and it was a shame that the bar was not set up to sell draught beers and the main restaurant was not open in the evenings. My husband is gluten free which the hotel knew in advance but he was not able to have any gluten free cereal for breakfast. I do want to reiterate the hotel and our room was lovely and Sidmouth is a thriving lovely town. We did really enjoy our stay.

A very traditional old fashioned hotel in an excellent location on the sea front. Unfortunately we did not get the room we had booked. We booked a deluxe double or twin with sea view. Our confirmation from Expedia clearly showed a photo of the room type we had booked as did their website. We had also checked the hotels own website which also showed the deluxe sea view room and described it has having more space. On being shown to our room on the top floor it was clearly not the room we had booked. Referring to the Expedia website it was the same as the photo shown for a double room sea view for single use. We checked with reception who maintained the room was ‘deluxe’ on pointing out the obvious discrepancy the receptionist said had we approached them direct the issue could have been resolved but the hotel was full so nothing could be done! We contacted the Expedia online chat but they were unable to resolve the matter. We then asked to speak with the manager and on the next day we met with what turned out to be the newish owner. He would not admit the mistake but insisted it was the service and not the room that mattered although he mentioned the many people he had given an upgrade to! He offered us a complimentary dinner but was unable to give us the correct room. We can provide photographic evidence of the room we occupied which clearly is not a deluxe room we booked and paid for. The final evidence being our bill which described our room ‘twin room sea view’.
