We absolutely loved our stay at Bigfoot Lodging Cottage #2 It’s a very authentic cabin in the woods experience. The original vintage wood interior and squeaky wood floors added a lot to the ambiance. Plenty of outdoor space for grilling steaks or making campfire s’mores. The grounds are fun and funky with lots of interesting things to see including a pond and creek. The family that runs it is warm and accommodating with a small store that sells drinks and snacks. Just a short drive to Lassen. We would definitely stay here again.

A quiet secluded place to get away from city life.
We were there because my family was camping at Manzanita Camp ground in Lassen. We were worried about the heat and having an air-conditioned place to stay during the day if necessary. The cottage has only a window air conditioner but it was fine, we turned it off at night. Beds were comfortable, kitchen is a good size and well stocked, and the surrounding trees are lovely.
It was a great cabin on a great property. The indoor space was fully stocked. I loved that they had the spices and plenty of towels. It was an awesome stay!

I stayed at Cottage #2 in Shingletown Bigfoot Camping. It was a quaint, quiet, and cozy stay. If you’re looking for 5-star hotel conditions, this isn’t the place for you (yes, the old wood floors do squeak a bit!). But if what you want is a peaceful, inviting, and restful getaway, this little cottage might be just right. It was perfect for us — we cooked simple meals, relaxed in the living room by the wood stove, and explored the beautiful surroundings, including Lassen Volcanic National Park. Truly magical.
Awesome little cabin that was close to lassen and sledding at Eskimo hill. Perfect spot to enjoy the local area and relax in a nice rustic cabin with a wood stove. Peter the host was very nice and answered all my questions leading up to the trip.
More than I ever would have expected. Beautiful setting. Lovely cottage with all the amenities. Walk right out the front door into beautiful wooded areas and nearby stream and waterfall. Folks were friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. I hope to return someday soon.
Great location near Lassen National Park. Cottage 2 was perfect for us.!
Cottage 2 had a fully stocked kitchen and a warm fire when we arrived. It was such a nice quiet place to spend a couple days with most of the comforts of home. The staff was friendly and the little store was very convenient. We will be back.

Overnight stay
We only stayed for one night while visiting Lassen Volcanic National park. The cabin was clean, but very rustic and remote. Although clean and comfortable, the property is quite dated. Good for a short stay.
My husband & I were greeted with a nice warm fire in our cabin. So relaxing after a long ride. Cabin cozy &/well equipped. No TV but lots of movies to choose. Unfortunate our trip was cut short due to impending snowstorm & the possibility of not being to get over the mountain passes. Staff at office awesome & helpful.

Order structure, quaint with creaky floors. The AC kept up with the very hot days just fine with fans to cool bedrooms. I'd suggest strong grab bars in the bathroom, it was difficult to use the beautiful clawfoot Rob with our creaky knees. Solid window coverings would be awesome, the blinds let in tons of light to the bedrooms.
What is not disclosed or described is that Cabin #2 is in the middle of a KOA-type campground plus a lot of extra parked trailers, heavy equipment, what appeared to be abandoned automobiles, yurts...Not at all what the pictures represent.
The cabin itself is quaint with VERY Loudly squeaky slanted floors. The bed sheets had a lot of human hairs and appeared to have been slept in. When I found someone from the store to talk to they were very willing to exchange the sheets.
Perfect place for family vacation to lassen national lark
Location is perfect. Very close to park’s north entrance, which had fewer people and shorter line to enter the park. And if you want to hike cinder cone, this place will save you an hour drive comparing to stay close to the south entrance. Facility was very kid friendly with its own creek and waterfall. Kids can play there safely after whole day hiking while parents cook dinner. Cottage has all you need for a short family vacation.
