We enjoyed our stay overall. The porch was definitely a highlight, it’s a semi wraparound layout, with one side screened in (where the hot tub is) and the other side open. It gives you a nice mix depending on the time of day, whether you want a bit more coverage or to sit out in the open air. A peaceful spot to relax and take in the surroundings. The Bear Camp staff were wonderful to work with. Very responsive, easy to reach by call or text, and always kind and helpful whenever we had questions or needed assistance. Check-in was smooth and straightforward as well. One thing to be aware of, the “free ticket” offered through the Explorer app is a nice perk, but it does seem to apply more to select attractions rather than some of the more popular or higher-priced options (like the aquarium or certain zip lines). It’s still a bonus, just something to keep expectations in line.Overall, this is the ‘budget-friendly’ option, and it reflects that in certain areas (e.g., listed as sleeping up to 9, that may feel a bit tight depending on your group and expectations for comfort). While it may not have all the upgrades or finishes you’d find in higher-end cabins, it offers good value for the price and covers the basics for a comfortable stay.
