Don't let the messy reception area fool you. This is a great place to stay in Kyoto! Fantastic proprietor, large clean room and comfortable beds. It's a great choice for a budget hotel and gives you everything you need for your stay.

Overall hotel was lovely - great location, lovely reception. The downfall was the cleanliness of the room (dust around the bed, dirty under the bed) and the drain smell in the rooms. General cleanliness was okay but did need a decent spring clean.

Nice, spacious room. Higher floor with nice views. Staff did a great job cleaning room. Shoe dryer was really nice to have. Had refrigerator, small freezer and complimentary water. Nice breakfast buffet.

"Hotel Apa was really clean and had good amenities but the situation with the elevators is a bit of a challenge we stayed Saturday and Sunday night and on Saturday night the line to go up to your room was about 60 people.
