This is a brilliant cosy place to stay. The hospitality is charming and the location is knockout because the village is technically 'nuclear' i.e. based round a central point and crucially without a through road. This means less disruption and greater calm and opportunity to properly tune in to the nature all around. There is a very tranquil feel at the less popular times of the year. Alfred the Great (King of Wessex) had a palace in the village !
