"Gorgeous room, friendly staff."

"We did not eat breakfast however the variety looked good from afar. Seemed to be pastries, bagels .. not sure about eggs. The room was great however we had to live out of our suitcase for the 4 nights of our stay as there was only a small space to hang up clothes and no drawers at aĺl. That made it awkward. Bed was comfortable, room lightening good and very clean as was the hotel facility. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was great. Close to the hop/in bus, shopping area and many wonderful restuarants. If you don't mind living out of a suitcase, I would recommend this hotel. "

The location was right next to the historic train station, and it was also close to the meeting spot of our day tour to Douro River excursion. "

"My wife and I just recently stayed there while touring around Portugal for two weeks. We spent two nights at this hotel. Our reservation was for a Room with a Queen bed. The room was clean and modern but was on the small side. It was difficult to open the two suitcases and have room to move around. Not a big deal for us as we were out the majority of the time. The lobby was beautiful and the staff helpful. Parking: For those driving, they do have parking available at an underground lot nearby, about a 7 minute walk away. The vehicle was safe and they provide a discount to those staying. Be sure to drop your bags off to check in before parking as the lot is downhill and you do not want to push the bags uphill. Prior to arriving I emailed the hotel for recommendations and they were very helpful. Both restaurants they recommended were fantastic! Location you are 10-15 minutes from everything by foot. The walk to the train station is 3-4 minutes. It's about 10 minutes down to the water and only 3-4 minutes to the bridge with a spectacular view of the waterfront below. Overall we had a great stay here. "

"Breakfast was excellent with lots of variety including healthy vegetables, quiche, eggs prepared the way you want. Crepes freshly made. Different varieties of bread too. Homemade sauces and jams. Fresh orange juice and other fresh blended fruit juice. Different every day. Staff very friendly, and courteous. Housekeeping staff-Tayane (she wrote her name spelling for me) always had a broad friendly smile and kind attitude. Front desk staff also very good especially Maria. Anna was good too. Gabriel - manager, very friendly guy. Ready to hear concerns if you have any and attends to it right away. "
