"The place was clean and felt very cosy. It was clearly newly refurbished and was clean. The beds were not too great though. In one of the bedrooms the wooden boards under the mattress were loose and had to put back in place. That is when it became clear they had better all be replaced. The sheets were made of synthetic fibers instead of cotton. And the place is above a fish shop. The owners have done all they can to repel the smell, but there is no escaping it when you enter. "Really unique stay. The hotel is very old (in a good way). Loved our room and the air conditioning saved our lives when it was 40 degrees in Troyes. The bathroom was small to what I am used to in Canada, but I am a bigger person and that is common with Europe. Great location, very friendly and accomodating staff."
