Lamangata was absolutely amazing! I stayed there for a work trip as a corporate pilot and my copilot also stayed there. While we were technically there for work it did not feel that way, but more so a paid vacation. I really enjoyed the relaxed home-like atmosphere where the whole resort is truly your home. The Playa Dominicalito room has such a beautiful view from the balcony. Even more amazing was the quality of the food. Every meal was cooked from scratch with local organic fruits, vegetables and meats. They also offered accommodations to fit any diet. Furthermore, the concept of having almost every meal with other guests was a great experience to network, meet others from around the world, and share together the experiences of the resort. I could go on about so much more like the amazing surfing lessons, kayaking in the mangroves or hiking to Nauyaca falls. Like my copilot and I both agreed, Lamangata is not a resort, but an overall experience. I dare anyone to experience Lamangata and not be fully impressed by every aspect of the experience.

Lamangata was one of the best stays I've ever had. The property sits high in the hills above the jungle with views all the way to the ocean, and the infinity pool looking out over the valley is unreal, especially at sunrise and sunset. The team plans everything for you. Each morning a hand-drawn chalkboard lists the tide times, meals and the day's activities, so all we had to do was show up. Our surf instructor started us off in the pool before taking us out in the ocean, which made learning feel easy and safe. They also set up a zipline and a trip to the Nauyaca waterfalls, and the transport ran right on time. The food was a highlight: fresh, colorful and made from scratch every day. Avocado toast, tacos, poke bowls, shrimp ceviche, BBQ ribs. Everything was delicious. The rooms are beautiful, with warm wood, stone sinks, soft lighting and a walk-in shower, and they were spotless. The common areas feel open and calm. What really set it apart was the staff. They were warm and attentive and made us feel like family. On our last day they gave us printed photos from the trip with a thank-you note, a touch we'll never forget. I can't recommend it enough and can't wait to come back.

Lamangata is a first class resort, with the highlights being the healthy delicious food, kind and attentive staff, luxurious room and extraordinary views. If you are a beginner or intermediate surfer, Lamangata is an excellent choice. I am a low intermediate level surfer and received helpful instruction. My wife is not a surfer, but enjoyed the hotel’s other offering such as yoga, pool and hiking. Initially, we were not sure if we would like the family style dining arrangement, but ended up thoroughly enjoying socializing with the other guests and kitchen staff. We highly recommend Lamangata and look forward to returning.

A beautiful resort hidden on a winding dirt road atop a hill set among the trees and wildlife with an exceptional view of the Pacific Ocean below. This resort recently opened to the public in January 2024. Upon arrival we were immediately relaxed and at peace, secure in the knowledge that we’d booked a great spot to enjoy Costa Rica. It’s a bed and breakfast style in the sense that breakfast was included each day. Our room was spacious and modern with a luxurious bed facing out toward nature and the Pacific Ocean. Nicely appointed bathroom with spacious shower. In room safe and bath robes. No TV in the room, but you won’t miss it and WiFi is included. We had a semi private balcony perfect for sipping your coffee while relaxing or looking out for monkeys, toucans, etc. The amazing sunsets were viewable from the balcony. And you could watch the sunrise by stepping just outside your front door. The pool area/terrace features a large infinity pool perfect for relaxing, a photo op, or swimming laps. There are comfortable lounge chairs, umbrellas, a grill, and outdoor kitchen area. The flower beds on property attract beautiful butterflies and hummingbirds. And we also saw capybaras scurrying around. There is even a bocce court(lawn bowling). Every member of the staff were helpful, kind and welcoming. Thank you to Ronald, Tony, and the others for making us feel at home. We would definitely return and feel lucky to have chosen Lamangata for our first visit to Costa Rica.
