This rental is a charming, two bedroom cottage perfect for a romantic couples' get-a-way or small family vacation. It has an ideal location just two houses from downtown shops and restaurants and is secluded on a dead end,. cul-de-sac with little traffic or pedestrian noise. The cottage has a very private stone patio in the back off the master bedroom which has an umbrella table and chairs and a chimenea for romantic fires, on those cool nights. The large side yard is nicely landscaped and is a great place for a picnic, yard games or child's play. The cottage is Pet Friendly and there's even a bike rack for securing your bike. Being just a stone's throw from downtown you'll find yourself walking everywhere. The Cottage is also only a block away from the river and Wickes Park where you can sit and watch the river boat traffic, people watch or fish. The chain ferry is at the end of the street and can take you across the river where you can walk or ride your bike to the beach.
Having two (2) on-site parking spots is especially welcoming when you drive somewhere and come back later to find them waiting on your return and being the only two open spots anywhere around. You'll enjoy your time in this cottage and the ease of access to downtown. You'll definitely want to return.

Wonderful cottage that has the very best location. Only a couple blocks of flat walking to restaurants, stores, playground and the river. Nice owners. Pet friendly.
Very nice house for a couple, with a second bedroom with twin beds for kids, plus pet friendly! Great location for easy access to all of downtown Saugatuck, yet on a quiet side street with off street parking, perfect for our 2 week stay. Owners are responsive, detail oriented and local to take care of any issues that might arise. A good find, and we will definitely stay here again!
We had another wonderful vacation at Jan's Cottage. The cottage is cute and sized just right for for us. We really like the close proximity to downtown which allows us to walk our dog. Gary is always attentive to any issues that arise. We will be back next year!
Jan’s cottage was so charming. Everything was neat and clean and exactly as described. The location was great. We would definitely stay there again. Jan and Gary were both helpful.
The cottage is very cozy and inviting and was perfect for our group this weekend. The location is perfect for walking to shopping, dining and night life in town. Very fun!
This was the perfect place for us to rest after visiting all the tulip venues in Holland. Saugatuck is a sweet town, people are very friendly and helpful.
My daughter and I spent Thanksgiving weekend at this cute and very cozy cottage. How nice it was to be able to walk to town and explore all the fun shops and great restaurants Saugatuck has to offer! We will stay here again that’s for sure! Great communication with the property owners made us feel like we were family!
Great place, great location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Nice to have a parking space. We would stay again.

This is our third time renting this darling little cottage - we love it that much! It's on a quiet side street in Saugatuck but easy walking distance to everything. The beds are comfy, the owners are great, and it's cozy inside and out. We will be back!
This was our second stay at Jan's Cottage, and it was just as we remembered it. Check in was easy and the place was clean when we arrived. The hosts are friendly and responsive and you can tell take good care of the property, including a well maintained yard w/sitting area that we would have enjoyed if it was a little warmer outside. It is located on a quiet street that is the perfect location to downtown shops/restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon!
Clean, cute, well appointed! Private location close to EVERYTHING! Only a 5 minute brisk walk to any part of Saugatuck. Didn’t have to move our car for our entire visit. Home was clean and hosts were responsive to questions and eager to make sure everything was in place for a perfect stay. I would highly recommend this place.
Nice place close to downtown for a City experience while in Western Michigan. Good for a couple or a family with one or two small children. Would recommended for a these type of customers. Saugatuck in August is about the best place to be in Michigan and this home fits the experience nicely.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect. We didn't have pets and didn't notice any evidence that this was a pet-friendly place. It's super clean! Very quick communication with friendly owners.
Note: One person in our party has a back condition and felt the 3 mattresses were all very firm. The sofa was comfortable for her to sleep on with her back condition.

Jan and Gary keep this property shining clean! I slept very comfortably in the Master bedroom with sheets that are soft as butter. Also ample pillows (a real plus) I didn’t expect so I brought a couple of my own.
Town is very walkable and less than a block from the cottage to begin your shopping in downtown Saugatuck. The shopkeepers are very friendly and helpful. Your hosts are available and gracious, enjoy your stay.
My family of three found this cottage ideal for a short fall getaway early October). The house was clean and stocked with essentials, and the hosts were helpful and kind. We were steps away from great restaurants, fun shops, and a nice playground perfect for our 9-year-old son. Plenty of restaurants and shops stay open in the off season, and we had the beach mostly to ourselves. We’re excited to return to Jan’s Cottage for a full week during the summer season to try out the attractions which were closed for the season, including the sand dune ride and the chain ferry.
the cottage is cute, but old and could use updating, the appliances are updated, but the kitchen is very small, the bathroom shower was nice, but the sink and toilet need updating, the bedrooms were fine and the master bed was comfortable, the living area with furniture was okay, didn't like that we felt we needed to clean the place per their laminated instructions even though there is a cleaning fee, communication was great and location is also great, Saugatuck is a nice place to visit for a few days
The cottage was absolutely adorable, super clean and comfortable. Very peaceful little nook, which was so nice.
The location cannot be beat, in the heart of everything Saugatuck has to offer. Everything in walking distance. I parked the car in the spacious 2 car private spot(s) and basically didn’t move it until it was time to leave.
Thank you so much for having us Gary and Jan!!

My two sisters and I had sisters weekend and this very quaint town of Saugatuck, Michigan
The bedding was soft, picture window in the living room, dining room and antique table and chairs big enough to have game night looking out lots of flowers outside. The only recommendation honestly would be to have more relaxing seating…. Sliding doors off of the master bedroom to sit outside in a magical garden. Gary, the owner was wonderful to deal with and made some recommendations of things to do in the area. We had a fantastic time and would go back again.
We had a delightful time staying at your property. It was just the right size for the three of us and we were delighted at the close proximity to downtown.
We would recommend only a few items for your consideration. The faucet in the bathroom is quite squeaky ~ perhaps a bit of lubricant would help. And the couch in the front room is somewhat uncomfortable to sit on...not a deal breaker, just feedback.
It was nice to meet you and look forward to coming back to Michigan again!
Cheers,
Melissa
