They also have large size slippers!

We absolutely loved our stay. Staff was so courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great. We hope to be back! The area is so beautiful. Be sure to hike over to the waterfalls and hopefully see some wild monkeys.

Great place. It was even better than we expected!

If you’re chasing something truly unique in Japan, skip the big cities for a night and stay in Fukusaki — a small town quietly famous for its yokai folklore. And if you do, there’s one stay that absolutely makes the experience unforgettable. The space itself is incredibly homey. You get that instant exhale when you walk in—like you’ve arrived somewhere safe after a long journey. It’s clean, thoughtfully arranged, and full of little details that make it feel personal rather than staged. But what...

Can't find other words but the best hotsprings experience I ever had. Everything is just perfect.

Space is beautiful and staff is helpful and friendly.

Staff was very helpful let me check in early due to rooms being already cleaned so we could drop off our bags. When leaving after check out let us keep our bags there at the office while we continued to explore the city. Great place to stay room was very nice 10/10 would recommend and definitely coming back!

What a great place... Everything was great! As a ryokan, the room was Japanese style, no shoes. The staff was not very conversant in English...enough to get by... and it could NOT have been better. The onsens were fantastic, eating in our yakatas a true experience. At dinner, the staff knew about our allergies and dislikes. The unbelievably wonderful waitress from Vietnam (I foolishly didn't get her name.) assured us at the beginning of our multi course meal that she and they would take care of...

Staying here was very pleasant. After checking in, we reserved one of the private baths (Reservations are for 45 minutes, and one reservation can be made at a time,) and headed down to the town to walk around. The walk from the hotel to the station at the bottom/central area of town is about ten or fifteen minutes. The town has small shops with local treats, but we only walked around it for two hours and felt like we weren't missing anything major. The private baths are in their own secluded...

An amazing and unique traditional stay in a small town outside of Kyoto. It is secluded and we were still able travel to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Kobe. Public transportation is provided multiple time every morning, and although I did a lot I highly recommend walking around the trails, and temples. My favorite temple was right behind the hotel, and it held amazing views and was not crowded at all. This was by far one of the coolest experiences i’ve had, and if you are looking for a traditional...

Super clean and spacious rooms, extremely friendly and helpful staff! Great location!

After staying down the hill in Kobe for a week, Arima was a magical retreat. The hotel has multiple private bathing rooms, each with two tubs, different waters in each tub, and traditional onsen squat showers. The rooms were reasonably sized with somewhat hard but comfortable beds. A very Japanese experience.

Hotel Goshobo truly envelops you in the history and tradition of a Ryoukan. The staff are super serious about their presentation and very very friendly. A stay here even for a single night is highly recommended.

The hotel should give notice to guests at reservation how to take shuttle bus from either bus station or train station to the hotel as the hotel is on a hill.
