The Space:
Edifício Copan is in one of the most central locations in São Paulo, with easy access to public transportation. There is a bus corridor in front of the building, and República metro station is about 200 meters away, serving the red and yellow lines.
Copan itself functions almost like a small city: on the ground floor and in the building's galleries, there are restaurants, cafés, a bakery, laundry, beauty salons, shops, a bookstore, florist, cheese shop, wine store, cachaça shop, and even an art gallery.
The República neighborhood combines the architectural history of downtown São Paulo with a thriving cultural and gastronomic scene. In recent years, the area has come to host award-winning restaurants, bars, galleries, cultural spaces, and independent shops, all within walking distance.
==== Gastronomy at Copan and surroundings ====
Copan is a prime spot for those looking to explore São Paulo's gastronomy. On the ground floor of the building is Bar da Dona Onça, led by Janaína Torres, a chef internationally recognized by The World's 50 Best.
Just steps away are also establishments connected to the chef, such as A Casa do Porco, Hot Pork, Merenda da Cidade, and Sorveteria da Cidade, along with many other restaurants, bars, and cafés that make República one of the most interesting gastronomic hubs in São Paulo.
Inside Copan, you'll find options like Cuia (Bib Gourmand restaurant by Bel Coelho), Sorveteria Tem Umami, Padaria Santa Efigênia, Café Floresta, Dona Zelda, Magg Café, World Café Bar, Casa do Raimundo, Fel, and Paloma.
Very close to the building, it's also worth checking out Esther Rooftop, Orfeu, Bia Hoi, Sertó, Z-Deli, Famiglia Mancini, Selva, Regô, Drosófila, Bar dos Arcos, Circolo Italiano, Gaspar, Trópico, Le Freak, Elephant Thai Food, Brim, and hm food café (inside the Gato sem Rabo bookstore).
==== Services and Partnerships ====
In addition to dining options, the ground floor of Copan offers various useful services for your stay, such as laundry, beauty salons, pilates studios, massage services, specialty shops, and cultural spaces like the Megafauna bookstore.
Guest Access:
To ensure access clearance to Edifício Copan, we kindly ask that you send in advance a copy of a personal ID document for all guests in the reservation — RG, driver's license, or passport.
This is a requirement from the building management for security and access control purposes, given the high volume of people in the building. The information will be used solely for entry registration.
Thank you for your understanding.
The Neighborhood:
Located in the heart of República, Copan is surrounded by restaurants, cafés, bars, bookstores, galleries, and icons of São Paulo architecture, with subway and public transportation just steps away.
Other Things to Note:
Copan is one of the most iconic and historic buildings in São Paulo, over 60 years old and located in the heart of the city. As it is an older construction, the electrical system has some limitations. To avoid power outages, we recommend not using too many electronic devices at the same time. By using the equipment carefully and without overloading the system, everything will work normally.
Copan is a residential building with over 1,000 apartments, so it is not possible to fully control noise coming from other units. Occasionally, there may be incidental sounds. During the week, especially between 8 AM and 5 PM, there may also be internal movement or minor maintenance work in the building.
Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you a very pleasant stay!
