"A really good hotel in a great location. The room was good size with comfortable bed. Only minor point was that bathroom door was sliding door so didn’t close completely. Breakfast was excellent."

"No breakfast but the location is great. The pool is small but it’s great to read and relax late afternoon or to sun bathe prior to exploring the city. The staff are extremely friendly. The showers could use some extra cleaning but overall, I highly recommend this stay and I will definitely come back. I would love to see them adding options for a kettle in the room for tea as well as a small fridge."

"Right in the historic Baixa district, the hotel is just steps away from the famous Santa Justa Lift and Rossio Square. It is a completely flat area making it highly walkable, meaning I could easily access all the top shops, restaurants, and historic sites on foot. A very nice surprise was the free minibar in the room, which was fully restocked daily with water, juice, and beer. They brought us a bottle of wine and a smaller wine bottle as a thank you note from Expedia and the hotel. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We definitely recommend Hotel Santa Justa."

"Our stay exceeded every expectation. The level of hospitality was exceptional from beginning to end. Housekeeping and room service were impeccable, with our room refreshed daily, and every staff member we encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The dining experience was equally impressive. Every meal was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, tasting just as wonderful as it looked. We were also pleasantly surprised with thoughtful touches throughout our stay, including elegant postcards, delicate macarons, and a complimentary bottle of wine, all of which made the experience feel even more special. The hotel’s location could not have been better. It offered breathtaking views and was perfectly situated within walking distance of excellent restaurants, popular attractions, and even the art museum, making it easy to explore the area without relying on transportation. Choosing this hotel was one of the best decisions of our trip. Every detail reflected care, elegance, and exceptional service. It made for an unforgettable experience, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. I look forward to returning in the future."

Four Points by Sheraton Sesimbra

"This is a tricky one. The rooms aren't great. The one we ended up in needed renovations. It had grimy, water damaged baseboards. The shower caulking needed to be cleaned or replaced. The water was never hot, sometimes lukewarm. The hair dryer was weirdly sticky and old. We reserved a "superior" room with a balcony through Expedia, but when we checked in, we were utterly dismayed. The room was in very poor condition and felt a bit like a room in a frat house. The first thing we noticed was the floor, which was chipped and damaged. The bathroom was grim and depressing. Overall, the room was in poor condition, and the "balcony" was actually an impersonal space shared with other rooms that overlooked nothing. Maybe this would have been acceptable if the room had been described as "basic" or "economy" when we booked, but "superior" suggests something much nicer. We immediately returned to reception after seeing the room and asked if an upgrade was available. The lovely young man at the front desk was able to upgrade us for an additional €25 per night. Our new room had a beautiful ocean and pool view, and I'm so glad we upgraded, so keep this in mind when booking. On a positive note, the furniture appeared to be new, and the bed was comfortable. Other things to keep in mind: there was no corkscrew, the "fridge" was really just a cooler, and there was no ice machine. Pluses: The pool area was lovely. The breakfast was good and the restaurant staff were nice."
