Santa Fe showing night scenes, a festival and a city
Browse the theaters, parks and memorials of Rosario. Take a trip to the riverside spas in the northern part of this province.

Santa Fe is a province of sprawling flatlands, low sierras and rivers in northern Argentina. It has two of the country’s most important cities, Rosario and the province’s capital, Santa Fe. The region has an intriguing history entwined with many indigenous groups. Explore the two large cities for a glimpse of Argentine life outside the international hub of Buenos Aires.

Rosario is one of the most populated cities in the country, with endless activities and cultural sites. Visit its National Flag Memorial, the icon of the city. At this memorial complex, learn about the nationalism evoked by the Argentine flag. Gaze up at the main tower and walk around the civic courtyard and large colonnade.

Watch a play at the majestic El Circulo Theater, which has ballet, dance and many other forms of dramatic arts. Relax in the open spaces of Independence Park and Parque de España. South of the city is the small commune of Arroyo Seco, where you can walk along the Parana River and a small creek.

Make your way north to the city of Santa Fe, recognizable by its red suspended bridge. Visit the Church and Convent of San Francisco to view its simple white façade and wooden features. Learn about the region’s past at the Historical Provincial Museum. Just outside the city is Cayasta, which is home to spas, resorts and scintillating nature trails along the San Javier River.

From the cities of Buenos Aires or Rosario, fly to the Sauce Viejo Airport, which is 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of the city of Santa Fe. The region is in northeastern Argentina and shares its southern border with the province of Buenos Aires. Summers are hot and humid, while winters can be cold and particularly dry in the western section.

With the attractions of Rosario and the charm of the capital, Santa Fe province provides two cities and much more. Enjoy it all.
