"Important: This hotel is now called the Tagara. It is tough to find things in Ecuador and having the wrong name on the signs does not help. This locale is beautiful, the pool gorgeous, and the staff, especially the general manager, Bernard, are wonderful. But this is more of a corporate retreat in style. However, a great escape from Quito or a great place to spend a night when making the drive from the coast to Quito. For Westerners I think the nightly stay with included meals is a fair price....

"I honestly choose a resort, but I accidentally choose this area. However, I would recommend for those who are low budget travelers but who are willing to take a break and rest in their amazing hot springs. They do have hiking trail, but it is the best not to go in the midst of rain. You will slip and get yourself all muddy. I learn that that hard way. "The couple here is very nice and very much want you to have a nice stay. Unfortunately, the accommodations are not ideal and not worth how much I spent. There is not much privacy and the food is good but too expensive and there aren't any other food options nearby. There is no pool so I don't know why they put that on the Hotels.com site. Again, the couple here is very nice and the location is pretty."
