Our family of 7 rented this unit and the upper unit for New Year's week. Beach access is great. The apartments are old, which isn't a bad thing, but there are updates that would make them more comfortable. The unit was not clean when we arrived, so we had to call and wait around. The bedrooms lack side tables, accessible plugs for phones and places to put stuff other than on the floor. The closets are small and full of pillows/bedding, so didn't help. We were able to cobble together items from both apartments for cooking, but it was a hassle and we had to carry items downstairs and back up before we left. There is no outdoor grill. The water pressure is poor. The most difficult thing was the power outage, which is not a "quaint" part of the PR experience you want on vacation, especially considering the cost of the units. We lost all power for 24 hours and again the next evening. We stay in rental homes because we have a large family and want to be able to cook. We had to go to a gas station to buy ice and pack our refrigerator items into the freezer (twice), which was a big hassle. We couldn't even plug in the coffee pot. These units have no backup generator, not even a partial to allow use of a couple outlets. Since there is no grill, we were out of luck with cooking and had to spend eating out. The prop manager's communications were about how he was also in a blackout, which wasn't helpful. No offer to reimburse for anything. A small gesture would have gone a LONG WAY.
