great little hotel with very helpful staff

this is a wonderful little hotel in central Samarkand. It was a wonderful place with exceedingly helpful staff in a central area of the city. Breakfast was excellent. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat if in Samarkand

This was a lovely hotel to stay at, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the rooms were comfortable. There was an issue at check-in where I was given the wrong room but the manager remedied the situation. Breakfast could have more options.

Very nice stay in Samarkand. The staff was super helpful and attentative. My room was very clean, wi-fi was great and AC efficient. There’s about 35min walk to Registan square or 10min by taxi.

チェックイン時刻より少し早く到着した。元々チェックインできるとは思っていなかったので荷物だけでも預かってもらおうと思っていたが少し待ってと言われお茶とお菓子を出されとても嬉しかった。 従業員は皆親切で気にかけてくれてこちらが恐縮するほどだった。 朝食はバイキングで美味しく部屋も広いので価格面でもコスパはとてもいいと思う。

A comfortable haven

A comfortable stay in a quietist street with good facilities. Spacious and well-equipped room and bathroom; pleasant bar, restaurant and atrium; polite and friendly staff. Only downside is that it’s away from the main sights and so it’s either a taxi or a long walk to see them. It seems to be a popular choice for weddings and so you may need to dodge the photographers as you go into the lobby!

多少難点がありますが、気持ちよく滞在できました。

同じグランドホテルがそれぞれ真向かいに建っている面白いタイプのホテル。スタッフの愛想が良く、ロケーションも良いので便利。ただしエントランスにスロープがなく、二階建ての館内にはエレベーターがなかったので、荷物を自分で持ってあげなければならなかったのが大変だった。また最終日にフライトが早朝だったのでモーニングコールを頼んだところ、フロントが寝坊したようで40分遅れてかかってきたのには参った。（フロントの係は相当恐縮していたが） 辛口の意見となってしまったが、気持ちよく滞在できたので総合評点は4点とした。「また泊まりたいか？」と聞かれたら「YES」と答えます。

There are two hotels across the road from each other. The main hotel has a nice lobby used for wedding photographs almost continously during the day. Nice for the brides and grooms but less so for paying guests. The swimming pool on the roof is just about functional for a quick dip though the ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Our room was a good size and room service was helpful one evening. The location is in a quiet street but close to a main one. It is walkable to the main sights and we took serveral different routes during our stay.

Could try harder in Samarkand

The good things first. The staff were great, really helpful and kind, friendly and efficient. The hotel was a little in need of TLC but was well maintained on the whole. The pool on the roof was hard to reach and a little neglected and lights were left on in hallways at night which shine through bedroom windows making them very bright. The wifi had to be renewed every day which was a faff. The breakfast spread was good but the hit food was allowed to go cold and stand and the cold find allies to warm up and stand, si everything was tepid including milk yoghurt, eggs etc. Final complaint is the beds, they truly are like sleeping on concrete, theses feel like beds you get in China. Really hard to get a decent sleep on. The area is a little remote from the Regis an and there are only limited restaurant choices nearby. The best was Platan about two blocks away.

Athens Grand Samarkand is a beautiful hotel. It is very nicely appointed and the staff was friendly. The bed was a bit hard, but the overall room comfort was very good.

Excellent service makes you feel at home

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Best coffee in town(specially brewed one) and you can request Turkish tea , too! What I liked most was service of receptionists. Very informative and helpful.

A pretty cosy place to stay

A little bit far from the old city centre, but once get used to the routes around, it was a nice walking distance from the old city via parks. Supermarkets and department stores are nearby located on the othet side of a big street. Staff members were cheerful, helpful and available at most of the times, as it is not a big hotel with a hundred of rooms. Breakfast was also a good selection of fruits, breads, juices, vegetables, some fried stuff. Everything was well maintained, and since it seems a new building, facility itself was new, clean and tidy. Good WiFi connection, air conditioner, welcome fruits, nice old photographs and paintings on the wall, birds twittering from the conservatory...it was such a comfortable hotel.
