This place blew my mind! Is amazing the hotel is beautiful and very well kept, the staff is friendly and professional and the views are fantastic! The food at the Italian restaurant was really good too. I would not only go again but invite my family and friends to come as well.

The staff was kind and helpful. Our tire deflated and two of the staff showed up to change the tire for us. The facility was clean with beautiful view and good eatery.

We arrived at night and the room they assigned was humid and therefore smelly. They changed us to a smaller room but the smell was more pleasant. After dinner at one of the lovely restaurants -which by the way have a fantastic female bartender-, we requested a corkscrew, since there was none available in the room and we are still waiting for it -even when we approved an in-room corkage fee of US$10- our grand reserve Malbec is still uncorked. The next day we scheduled a massage at the spa, no robes, no slippers no hangers or lockers and one sided massages for 30 mins. No shower available afterwards. Great facilities, level of service should improve.

Bannister Hotel

Every time we come it gets better and better. This is a quiet and homey place to stay. The marina provided a picturesque view, making the stay quite enjoyable for water enthusiasts. Yelaine at the reception stood out with her exceptional hospitality, ensuring a warm welcome and addressing any inquiries with a friendly demeanor. Her attentive service added a personal touch to the overall positive impression of the hotel.

The rooms were outdated. Some fixtures didn’t work like the shower head. There was a smaller shower head attached to a bigger one, the big one sprayed water everywhere so we opt to use the small one during our stay. The interior could use some renovations. Other than that the staff was patient and very friendly/ helpful. I would visit again.

Hotel is beautiful restaurant menu was limited amendment this poor you have to buy your own ice I have no safe in the room to leave your jewelry. The door don’t lock. I just close there is no safety lock.

Need improvement

The hotel is somewhat driving distance to meet local places (if you feel comfortable driving around). Our room definitely needed to be attended, none of the electrical outlets worked, no hot water in the shower, and the kitchen needed definitely to be replaced- stove completely full of rust, bathroom sink cloth up. We reported these items. Comfortable sofa, mattress somewhat hard, specious space, great balcony but overall the hotel was ok. Small pool, good marina and service was ok!

Lovely hotel off the beaten path. It's located 10 minutes away from Samana, in a private residential complex and marina. Completely self-sufficient: there is a laundry, minimarket, several bars and restaurants on the premises. Only one caveat: there is no beach in the property. However, the pools and sea swimming area (not exactly a beach), and proximity to beautiful ones more than make up for it. Food in the restaurants is world-class, and while service may be on the unfinished side, the staff's attitude more than offsets it. While dining at the Beach Club restaurant, was lucky enough to be treated to a group of humpback whales breaching, jumping out of the water, and overall having fun. It was an unexpected yet beautiful moment. Overall, loved this hidden jewel, and will surely recommend it as much as I can, until I can return to it in the very near future.
